THE CHARACTERISTIC OF THE ARMIES OF GOD: JOEL 2:1-11

As we continue in our series title “THE ARMIES OF THE LORD” We are going to be looking at the unique nature of these great armies; who are they; what makes them different from ordinary men and women and where can they be found.

Everyone has their unique nature that makes them different from one another; and we the redeemed child of God belongs to a highly organized kingdom and knowing who we are is what positions us for our own manifestation. The first step towards knowing who you are is to recognize your unique nature; you need to understand that as our faces are different so is our desire and our destiny; no two people have the same destiny. The race is for an individual; when you find out that you are always comparing yourself to someone else, you need to check yourself very well because if you truly know who you are and what God has packaged in your present and your future you will not wish to be someone else; you will be content. One of the characteristic of this great armies is their awareness of who they are; Joel 2:7(They shall run like mighty men; they shall climb the wall like men of war; and they shall march everyone on his ways; and they shall not break ranks: 8 Neither shall one thrust another; they shall walk everyone in his path: and when they fall upon the sword, they shall not be wounded). If you look deep into this particular verse of the scripture; you will get the picture of what I am talking about. They have no time to look at what the other person is doing; they are so focused on their assignment that they have no time to envy anyone; they are serious minded people and nothing distracts them. Most times in our journey, we allow ourselves to be preoccupied with what the other person is doing and in the process we might end up losing track of what we are called to do. Our focus should be on God who gave us the assignment, who is also the way and He will show us the way to accomplish the task ahead of us. The armies are trained to focus on God and never to shift their eyes, because the enemies are by the side creating all manner of distraction; but as long as your eyes are fixed on Jesus, you will continue to win. Satan will be telling you; don’t you see what your neighbor is doing; don’t you know that you can do better than him; forgetting that you have a specific assignment and instruction different from your neighbors. The armies are always running; a man of vision is always running; there is no time for leisure walk. Habakkuk 2:2(And the LORD answered me, and said, write the vision, and make it plain upon tables that he may run that readeth it. 3 For the vision is for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie: though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry). You are meant to run with vision because it has an expiring date and that’s why Satan is busy creating distraction for you in order to stop you from meeting up with the appointed time. Our God is a God of time and season (Ecclesiastes 3:1); Friends, you need to keep track with the time and the season; you can’t afford to miss it. You will not miss your appointed time in Jesus name. The armies have an impenetrable wall of protection around them; nothing is allowed to hurt them (and when they fall upon the sword, they shall not be wounded). They have the full armor of God; a complete rank. They have the sword of the spirit, the shield of faith, the prayers and supplication, the helmet of salvation; the Gospel of faith, the breastplate of righteousness that was given to them during the preparation and the incubation period (Ephesians 6:12-18). They are mountain destroyers and obstacle killers; and Satan knows not to mess with them. They have the mandate to crush anyone that dares to stand on their way. Nothing can stop them from getting to the top most top; I see you getting there in Jesus name. These armies are found here on earth among us; they are God’s general, they are the pathfinder and the pacesetters. Friends, you that are reading this message is the next pathfinder in Jesus name. I am sure you want the whole armor of God and you also like the description of these great armies; I have good news for you, God has ordained you to be one of them, all you need to do is to take steps towards taking what belongs to you and that step is salvation. THE MANIFESTATION OF THE ARMIES OF GOD

Romans 8:19(For the earnest expectation of the creature waiteth for the manifestation of the sons of God).

In the journey of destiny our part has been designed by God who knows the way; Jesus Christ is the way, the truth; he is the morning star; you cannot follow him and get lost in the cloud; he is the morning star that draws other star from the dark cloud of the enemies. Revelation 22:16(I Jesus have sent mine angel to testify unto you these things in the churches. I am the root and the offspring of David, and the bright and morning star). He is never too late; He is a God of time and season (Ecclesiastes 3:1); what seems to be a delay is not actually as you think; so long you are still connected to the root, when the time comes for you to reign you will definitely be enthroned. The whole world is waiting for you to manifest; they knew you are coming; in fact it is you who is doubting yourself; your enemies know that you are a star and that is why they are trying everything possible to keep you in the dark; but the end has come to their harassment over your life today in Jesus name. They knew about Jesus even before he was born; where he was going to be born and his destiny. Matthew 2:2(Saying, where is he that is born King of the Jews? For we have seen his star in the east, and are come to worship him. 3 When Herod the king had heard these things, he was troubled, and all Jerusalem with him. 4 And when he had gathered all the chief priests and scribes of the people together, he demanded of them where Christ should be born. 5 And they said unto him, In Bethlehem of Judea: for thus it is written by the prophet). Every star is announced before their arrival. Your arrival has been announced by God before you were born. The day he told Abraham in your seed all the nation of the earth shall be blessed; He was talking about you and me (Genesis 13:14-17, 15:1-5). The same way Isaac took time to come after God has promised Abraham; you are a promised child and that’s why he is preparing you for the taking over. When Isaac finally arrived, Ishmael have to go for Isaac to reign; Genesis 21:9(And Sarah saw the son of Hagar the Egyptian, which she had born unto Abraham, mocking. 10 Wherefore she said unto Abraham, Cast out this bondwoman and her on: for the son of this bondwoman shall not be heir with my son, even with Isaac). It doesn’t matter how long, now that you have emerged every Ishmael occupying your space shall give way for you in Jesus name. Genesis 41:42(and Pharaoh took off his ring from his hand, and put it upon Joseph’s hand, and arrayed him in vestures of fine linen, and put a gold chain about his neck; 43 and he made him to ride in the second chariot which he had; and they cried before him, Bow the knee: and he made him ruler over all the land of Egypt). Just like Joseph when he was brought out of the prison before Pharaoh; he stepped down for him to reign because out of the darkness of Egypt a star had emerged; everyone bowed for him because that’s how he was meant to be. Inside the prison was where God perfect his training. Friends, I know you have been worried; is my dream ever going to manifest; has God forgotten about me; why am I being treated this way; may be Joseph asked the same question while he was going through the preparation period; thank be to God, your answer has finally come. At this stage the power has been given to you to reign and crush any opposition that tries to stop your reign. In reality you hardly see opposition at this stage; they are not stupid; that’s why no one challenges Joseph’s authority; when Sarah said Hagar and his son has to go; there was no opposition (Genesis 21:1-12). Now that the star in you has emerged, it is time to take over; the manifestation period of the armies of God is the taking over stage. The manifestation period is when you are now fully aware of who you truly are; you have been fully clothed with all your regalia, your staff of authority, is now in your hand and ready to rule over your enemies. At this stage no more stagnation, no more rise and fall; you have been equipped to reign in your career and every area of your endeavor. The time for people to see your God glorifying Himself in you has finally come; Pharaoh said no one is as discreet and wise in Egypt like Joseph; that means he is the only star in Egypt; that shall be the testimony of your enemies concerning you in Jesus name. God would put the solution the world needs in your hand and the king will look for you in Jesus name. The whole world waited for the manifestation of the sons of God (Romans 8:19); the question is, are you a son or daughter of God? If not then nobody is waiting for your manifestation because Christ in you, is the hope of glory (Colossians 1:27); but you have the power to turn it around if you so desire by making a decision to be a son or daughter of God today. Just ask Jesus to come into your life and transform you, by praying this salvation prayer below and be blessed in Jesus name.

THE EMERGING PHASE OF THE LORD’S ARMY: JOEL 2:1-11

This is a sequel to our previous series on THE MAKING OF GOD’S ARMY; the armies of God go through a process before their total takeover. There is what is called the introductory stage; the incubation stage which is the preparation stage and today we are talking about the emerging stage. The emerging stage is the stage where the armies begin to rise and move towards their position because at this stage they are fully aware of who they are; they have been entrusted with some authority based on the battles they have engaged in during the incubatory stage. Joel 2:1(Blow ye the trumpet in Zion, and sound an alarm in my holy mountain: let all the inhabitants of the land tremble: for the day of the LORD cometh, for it is nigh at hand; 2 A day of darkness and of gloominess, a day of clouds and of thick darkness, as the morning spread upon the mountains; a great people and a strong; there hath not been ever the like, neither shall be any more after it, even to the years of many generations). This scripture is talking about you and me; the reason why your training was full of agony is for you to emerge as a strong and great army. The armies are trained to endure and enjoy pain because inside that pain is their enthronement just like Joseph in the land of Egypt.

We are in the day of darkness and this is the day that the LORD has been training His armies and preparing them for the takeover. We are the takeover army. Before I move further, let me paint a picture of this takeover army to us for more understanding; their emerging into the world. Stars cannot be seen in the daytime; before you can see a shining star in the sky you need to wait for darkness to come. So friends don’t bother too much about the darkness because it is there for you to shine in their midst. You are a star because redemption had made you so; every seed of Abraham is a star; God told Abraham that his seeds shall be as the stars; so when you look up to the sky in the night knows that you are among those stars. Genesis 15:5(And he brought him forth abroad, and said, look now toward heaven, and tell the stars, if thou be able to number them: and he said unto him, So shall thy seed be). Galatians 3:29(and if ye be Christ’s, then are ye Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise). You are from above because he that is from above is above all (John 3:31); Daniel 12:3(And they that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament; and they that turn many to righteousness as the stars for ever and ever). We all know that in this kingdom every provision of the scripture has a condition attached to it. Your emerging as the takeover army lies on the multitudes of people that you have turned to God. Stars do fade away, when they are no longer relevant; but those that continue in the assignment of turning many to righteousness are ordained a star forever in order of Jesus and Paul the apostle. During the process of making it, it will look as if everything is working against you; but that is not so, instead everything is working for you. The same thing happens to silver and gold during the purification process; they pass through the refiner’s fire and come out as something to cherish and value; that’s you in Jesus name. You are brought out of darkness by force and you are ordained to shine in the midst of darkness; you can’t run away from darkness, but you are have been empowered to dominate and reign over them; that is why when you look up in the night, you see the stars shining from the dark cloud. Your light is meant to make the darkness useless; you are to draw as many stars that are still hidden inside that dark cloud out into the open. you are shining because you have been chosen and prepared to conquer; if you have not conquered them you would have still been lost inside the dark cloud by now; you are in the open now and darkness cannot cover you anymore. When you look carefully into the sky, you will notice that some of those stars are bigger than each other; but you can improve in your work with God and gain more size. The more stars you draw from the dark cloud the bigger and brighter your star becomes. Some of those stars can actually get swallowed by the dark cloud again if they stop obeying God’s instruction on how to maintain their dominion. It is very easy because you are still in the same world with them, it is just that you have been empowered to dominate them. Matthew 13:30(Let both grow together until the harvest: and in the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, gather ye together first the tares, and bind them in bundles to burn them: but gather the wheat into my barn). You will not be choked by the tares in Jesus name. Now that your star has emerged, no matter the darkness around you, they will not be able to cover your star again in Jesus name. in case you are still lost in the dark cloud and you need help to come out and shine as the star that you are destined to be; Jesus Christ is beckoning you to stretch your hand and let him pull you out; please hurry up and pray this salvation pray below and you would be out in the open in Jesus name.

THE MAKING OF GOD'S ARMY PART 2 (LUKE 9:1-2, 10:17-19)

Then he called his twelve disciples together, and gave them power and authority over all devils, and to cure disease. 2 And he sent them to preach the kingdom of god and to heal the sick).

What differentiates the civilian from the army is the authority and power confers to them; this power comes through sacrifice. But in the case of the kingdom’s army the sacrifice has been paid by Jesus Christ. What we need to do is to enter into what has been done and claim our authority. Also you are a warrior queen and King and what differentiates you from the ordinary citizen is your crown of authority. You cannot rule or reign without authority; that’s why we need authority and this authority is conferred and not acquired (Psalm 110:1-3). It is our relationship with God that determines the levels of authority he allows us to control; the relationship between us and God grows over time by our commitment towards the advancement of His kingdom; our commitment is measured by the level of our fruit bearing. John 15:1(I am the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman. 2 Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away: and every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit). Remember, as you are bearing fruit for God you are bearing fruit for yourself in all areas of your endeavor because the same authority is what you need to rise in your career and business (Matthew 6:33). Jesus Christ came to save us and the power he gave to us is to save others too; maybe the reason why you are not manifesting a high level of authority yet is because he knows you are not ready to save souls. Let me paint the picture like this; if you have one AK 47 gun and you are able to rescue ten ‘boko haram’ captive and destroy their camp; God will say wow, he needs a machine gun; I think he will end their operation with more weapons and authority. And you on your own will be joyful and proud of yourself that you are able to rescue people that were about to perish and the scripture said there is joy in heaven over one soul that is saved. The same feeling goes when a drunkard, a thief, a prostitute and so many others were saved because you choose to carry out your assignment as an Army of God. If you saved two souls with the little authority that you have; he will give you more authority to deal with the devil. If you have authority to heal a headache and you ignore the sick; the power to heal cancer would not be given to you; in fact that one you have for headache will be withdrawn from you (Luke 19:13-25). So many things constitute the name, Army; there is no Army without a union form and amour; without their armoring they are like ordinary civilians and their word or appearance would have no effect on anyone. But as soon as they put on their uniform no matter how close they are to you whether friendship or relative you will know that level has changed. The armies of God have the backing of heaven just like the earthly army has the backing of the president of every nation. God is their commander in Chief. Every army in this kingdom is expected to have their armor on all the time; no break, no retirement; it is a continuous thing because the battle between light and darkness has no end as long as you are here on earth. But you have been empowered to overcome them by the blood of Jesus and the authority in the name of Jesus. Revelation 12:11(And they overcome him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony, and they loved not their lives unto death). You cannot enter into a strongman’s house and set his captives free except you yourself are stronger than him (Matthew 12:29). That’s why God has made everything we need to preach the gospel available to us. In this kingdom we are not warring against physical beings because for every sinful action there is a power behind it and those powers are what we are contending with. The scripture has analyzed all we need to be an army ready to go to war in the enemy’s camp. Ephesians 6:10(Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. 11 Put on the whole armor of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. 12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. 13 Wherefore take unto you the whole amour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. 14 Stand therefore, having on the breastplate of righteousness; 15 And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; 16 And above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. 17 And take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God: 18 Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;). Wow, this is very detailed. Everything we ever need to win the war against the enemy of our destiny has been summarized by Paul the warrior king. The making of God’s army takes process and the first step is your enrollment which is the new birth; you need to be born again. God does not confers authority on a stranger, a strange cannot use the name of Jesus to cast out devil; a stranger does not have access to the blood of Jesus; a stranger cannot preach the Gospel of peace; a stranger is not saved thereby cannot save others; a stranger cannot share in the inheritance of God; he has no uniform and no armor. THE MAKING OF GOD'S ARMY PART 1

Acts 1:8(But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witness unto me both in Jerusalem, an in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth). Ephesians 6:14(Stand therefore, having on the breastplate of righteousness; 15 And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace);

Our primary assignment as a child of God is to go out and rescue souls who are still in captivity and we need power to carry out this task (Mark 16:15-20). At new birth we received power but this power needs to be provoked in order to work; power is in levels. The commandment was to go and tell the good news to others who have not heard and as long as you are on this assignment your power will grow. We are to rule in our area of endeavor but we cannot ignore our primary assignment and except to rule in our endeavors. It is high time we believer should stop comparing ourselves with people of the world; we are different and need to focus and walk in our lane that God has design for us if we must reign as kings and queens that we are. Just like the earthly army, God’s army also go through rigorous training in order to be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. Ephesians 6:11 (Put on the whole armor of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil). Without training the armies are like ordinary civilians, this training am talking about is not cheap it comes with prize. The training are in levels but not everyone that was enrolled were able to make it through the training process; many have drops along the way and more are still dropping; but you that is reading this message will not drop, you will make it through the process in Jesus name. The Army of God never graduates from training; they continue to acquire new ranks and change levels until the end of their assignment here on earth (Proverbs 4:18). The more you engage in training the more rank you acquire. Every General in this army has their story to tell; behind every success there is a story. It is only those who survive the training and the war that has a testimony and you’re the next in line to share your testimonies in Jesus name. The earthly armies are ready to sacrifice themselves on behalf of their nation and that is exactly what is expected from the armies of the LORD also. There is an enrollment into this army and after the enrollment that’s when the training begins. Jesus Christ was talking to his disciples who are already born again that they shall receive power before going to the enemy’s camp to rescue souls for him. The Armies of God are the sons and daughters of God and to be a child of God you need to receive Jesus Christ as your Lord and savior. John 1:12(But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name). New birth is your certificate of enrollment and then the training begins; as you continue in the training the power will be released to you incrementally based on your commitment. The number of your fruit is what determines your rank. You are not expected to remain in the same rank forever; you are expected to change levels. During the training the armies go through a lot of pain and agony but because they have made a vow to make themselves a living sacrifice for their nation they continue to soldier on. Imagine someone that just get enrolled into an army is been released to go and fight the enemy; it will be a murder case because he or she has not learn how to use the weapon neither have they developed their muscles. Our God is not a murderer that’s why he said you shall receive power before you can witness for him. This power is in level and that’s what makes some General in this Armies of God. In this Kingdom every Army are expected to through fire in order to be tried if they are ready; the ability to pass through this fire depend on your trust in God who is your trainer, our God is a very good trainer; He would not listen to your tears or your emotional display because He is more interested in your safety than your tears. So, friend, what you are going through now may be a training for you ahead of your assignment as an army of the most high God. Malachi 3:3(And he shall sit as a refiner and purifier of silver: and he shall purify the sons Levi, and purge them as gold and silver, that they may unto the LORD an offering in righteousness). That’s why you will hear people referring to the highly anointed men of God as God’s general because they have fought several wars to get to where they are; I don’t know your rank; maybe you are just a trainee; my prayer is for you to make it through in Jesus name. Once you are enrolled into this army there is no going back; going back means treason and you know what that means, death sentence but that will not be you in Jesus name. When Adam and Eve committed treason they died; not physically dead but the Spirit of God that differentiate them from ordinary civilians was taken away from them and they entered into bondage; but you that are reading this message will not enter into bondage in Jesus name. THE ARMIES OF GOD

John 15:16(Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you).

Mark 16:15(And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature; 16 he that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned).

We are redeemed to be enlisted into an Army; we, the children of the kingdom, are the Army of God. Our ordination comes since the day we give our lives to Christ. We are a chosen generation and heir to the throne. 1 Peter 2:9(But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you of darkness into his marvelous light). We are kings and Queens because we are the children of the King of kings; and as kings we are always at war with the enemy of our throne; the royals are trained on how to fight. The war is about the enemy of our fruitfulness; our ability to bear fruit is what guarantees our enthronement and the enemies know this, so he is working against our fruitfulness. In order to multiply as we are ordained to; we need to defeat the enemy and put them under our feet. Our receiving from God is tied to our ability to bear fruit because it is to us according to our produce. God is a righteous God; so he is not going to give us from the fruit of another person. Every army has an assignment; our own assignment is given to us by our heavenly Father; it is to go and rescue souls who have been held captive by the other kingdom. Jesus came to rescue us from the captivity of the kingdom of darkness and restore to us our lost heritage. He has also taught us how to do the same. He says as the Father sent him he also has sent us; John 17:18(As thou hast sent me into the world, even so have I also sent them into the world). He was a one man army general who single handedly brought Satan to an open shame. Colossians 2:15(And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it). As an army we have a specific assignment to rescue souls by preaching the gospel to them; we don’t need another ordination; we are already ordained at new birth to go out on a rescue mission. Rescuing souls from the kingdom of darkness is a serious battle that is why no ordinary civilians in the kingdom can engage in this task. It requires that you enter into the enemies territory and only an army can do that, Mark 3:27(No man can enter into a strong man’s house, and spoil his goods, except he first bind the strong man; and the he will spoil his house). You need to be trained as an Army with your weapons of warfare in your hand. Matthew 11:12(And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of darkness suffereth violence, and the violent take it by force). John came to preach the gospel of repentant and he was hated for that by the authority and he lost his head; since then battle has been ferocious because Jesus took over from where he stopped and finished the enemy. Jesus has made it easy for us to enter into the enemy's territory and rescue their captive; the weapons he handed over to us was his blood and among others; the same blood that was used to rescue the children of Israel from 430 years of captivity in Egypt (Exodus 12:12-13). The good understanding and the application of these weapons is what makes one a better soldier. Zechariah 9:11(As for thee also, by the blood of thy covenant I heve sent forth thy prisoners out of the pit wherein is no water). The blood of Jesus was shed to rescue all the prisoners. That's why he said go now quickly and let them know by preaching the gospel to them; they need to know that the prize for their rescue has been fully paid. How can you explained the logic of a man who saw clearly that smokers are liable to die young written in a cigarette pack and he continue; he is in the house of strong man and needs to be rescued or how can you explained a man or woman who knows that their activities is causing death and destruction and they refuse to stop; they are in the house of a strongman. A prostitute, a thief and hire killers; liars; they all know that what they are doing is wrong but they can’t help it because they are in the house of a strongman. But you have been trained and armed with weapons to rescue them from this strong man who have held them in captive; If you refuse to preach the gospel as a believer then you are selfish and you don’t want to bear fruit you want to stand alone; but note that in the day of judgment you will be asked to present your fruits (Luke 19:11-27). He said he is going to cut off all the branches in him that refuse to bear fruit and cast them into the fire, but that will not be you in Jesus name. You cannot be a general in this army if your fruit is not much; in this army our rank is conferred to us based on the quality and the multitude of the fruit that we produce.
