OVERCOMING YOUR PAST; PART 2

Philippians 3:13-14(brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, 14 I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus)

Life is a journey and every man begins their own journey as soon as they are born into this world. but being born again is a call into the race of destiny and the beauty of this race is that you are not contesting against anyone, in fact, you are actually contesting against yourself and it is you that will decide whether you want to win this race or not. It is not an ordinary race; and it requires pressing forward and you cannot press forward if you are holding on to the luggage of the past. Imagine you running a race and then continue to look back and you expect to win, it is not possible; looking back will always keep you at the back. That is why Paul said that he does not consider his past. The only thing that he is concerned about are those things in front of him and how to get them. The past is dark and you have been called into the light, so walk in the light and leave the darkness alone. There is nothing you can do to bring back yesterday; it is impossible but you can do something to shape your future because Christ that is now in you is the hope of your glorious future (Colossians 1:27). If you are busy pressing toward the mark of the high calling of God you will not be depressed; depression is for those who care too much about the past. Your new birth has made you a brand new personality; you are now living in Christ and he that is in Christ is a new creature, old things have passed away and all things have become new (2 Corinthians 5:17). You are no longer that individual that does those despicable things, that individual is dead and thinking about the past is the process of waking up the dead person. Holding on to the past is not something anyone can deliver you from, it is a choice that you need to consciously make by yourself. Imagine a new born baby that was born an hour ago, and someone came to accuse that same child of the wrong that was done yesterday, how is that possible. Anyone that dares to accuse you of your past will be seen as a mad man or woman because he or she is accusing a new born baby of sin that was committed before he was born. That is exactly what happens when you give your life to Christ, you are now a newborn baby and no one can accuse you of what happened in the past because your past is dead; if someone is dead, you will hear people saying that he or she has passed away. 

John 3:3 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. 4 Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother's womb, and be born? 5 Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. 6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.

When you are really born again, your old self will be so irritating and you would not want to flash back. I heard this alot from my converts; one of them said to me, Sister Nene, I wish I could enter into my mother's womb and be born again, or turn back the hands of time. I told her there was no need because she has gone through that process but not through her mother but through Christ and she is now a brand new personality and that is why she was feeling that way, that i am glad she did. I say to her to go on and enjoy her brand new identity by walking in the newness of life in order to make sure that the new born baby remains spotless. I also referred her to (John 3:3-6). because that was exactly what Nicodemus asked Jesus. Friends, You need to get familiar with your new life in order to get the old man behind you, only then you can make headway. The new height that God ordained for you cannot be climbed with the burden of the past; and Satan knows very well, so in order to hold you back he will keep flashing you with the past memory. Jesus Christ has wiped your past out with his precious blood, please don´t bring it back. Colossians 2:13 (And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he quickened together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses; 14 Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross). 

Friends, say to yourself; Jesus Christ has forgiven my sins; he has wiped them out with his blood, nobody can go to the cross and bring it back to me and I will not do it myself either; I am free indeed because Jesus Christ has taken away the burden of sin from me. I am now a brand new personality; my tomorrow is greater than yesterday; I am no longer that person you used to know; so, you my accuser, get used to the new me and move on. Hallelujah!

Friends, remember, Christ in you is your hope of a glorious future; if Christ is not yet in you or you are not sure of your salvation, please quickly pray this salvation prayer below and become a brand new personality today, in Jesus name.

THE PERFECT TRAP

Romans 11:9 And David saith, Let their table be made a snare, and a trap, and a stumbling block, and a recompence unto them: 10 Let their eyes be darkened, that they may not see, and bow down their back always.

Life is a battlefield, we are constantly at war with the enemy of our destiny. In every battle both opposition do set a trap for each other and that is why David says in the book of 

Psalm 35:6 (Let their way be dark and slippery: and let the angel of the LORD persecute them. 7 For without cause have they hid for me their net in a pit, which without cause they have digged for my soul. 8 Let destruction come upon him at unawares; and let his net that he hath hid catch himself: into that very destruction let him fall).

This battle is real whether you like it or not; it is either you are fighting or you accept a defeat and surrender to your opponent before the battle even begins. You don't need to offend anyone, your salvation is already an offence against the devil and his kingdom. You are the seed of the woman that was to bruise his head and he is the serpent that was to bruise your heels and that is the reason why your feet need to be empowered to become hinds feet (Genesis 3:14-15). The scripture says that the devil left Jesus for a season; but, what for? to go and re-strategies of course. The devil will always come back but the beauty of this battle is that we are on the side of God which is the winning side, the master strategy Himself is our Father and He is in control of all things. God is a strategic fighter; being on the side of God is as sweet as honey because He knows the end from the beginning (Isaiah 46:10), so in every step of the way a trap is there for your enemies. In Fact He will purposely make them stubborn in order to lure them into His perfect trap for them. He told Moses what the Egyptian are going to do before they themselves even think about it. He is still doing it today. It makes the opponent look stupid because their plan has been revealed to you beforehand, and It is called divine expo. Exodus 14:4 (And I will harden Pharaoh's heart, that he shall follow after them; and I will be honoured upon Pharaoh, and upon all his host; that the Egyptians may know that I am the LORD. And they did so). How can a creature suddenly think that he is smarter than his creator? I don't get it. The creator has the manual, the remote control, and He lives forever; anytime He likes He can just press the button and off you go. God will turn the wisdom of your enemy into foolishness, in the name of Jesus. That stubborn pursuer who has refused to let you go shall fall into the perfect trap of the Almighty God, in Jesus name. They crucify Jesus thinking they have gotten rid of him but little do they know that they just help him fulfill his destiny in grand style and now he lives forever and Satan now has more than millions of Jesus to contend with because Christ lives inside of  me and you (John 14:23). Joseph was hated and sold into slavery but they actually fast forward his destiny. Be more strategic than your adversary by aligning yourself with God; allow him to guide you and you will be more than a conqueror, in Jesus name. God wants me and you to be that weapon of war that he can be proud of, but a weapon has no say in the hand of the warrior, he just surrenders and makes himself available to be used by him. 

Jeremiah 51:19 (The portion of Jacob is not like them; for he is the former of all things: and Israel is the rod of his inheritance: the LORD of hosts is his name. 20 Thou art my battle axe and weapons of war: for with thee will I break in pieces the nations, and with thee will I destroy kingdoms); You are not like them, you have been separated, chosen by God to show forth His mighty works here on earth. The only way you can fall into the trap of the enemy is when you refuse to listen and follow his lead. God is a merciful God, He will not allow you to perish, and that is why He has make a way for you to return to him in case you have wander away from His presence; Just rush back to Him by praying this salvation prayer below and be blessed, in Jesus name

SPIRITUAL IMPERSONATOR

Acts 19:14 And there were seven sons of one Sceva, a Jew, and chief of the priests, which did so. 15 And the evil spirit answered and said, Jesus I know, and Paul I know; but who are ye?

The question of your spiritual identity cannot be shy away from if you really want to be relevant in life. There is nothing like middle ground when it comes to the issue of spiritual identity, you just have to know where you belong. There are many spiritual impersonators going around the world claiming to be who they are not in Christ; many did not even know that they are not a child of God anymore while some knowingly claiming a false identity. Claiming a false identity has both physical and spiritual repercussions, so be careful. The only way to avoid being an impersonator is to always know where you are standing at every step of the way in your relationship with God. Many have received slap from the devil trying to challenge him because they thought they were still standing in Christ little did they know that their feet had slipped away from him and they have already started sinking. It is a very sad situation; If you are no longer with God that automatically means that the devil is now your master and you cannot wage war against your own master. The worst thing that can happen to anyone is for the devil to be asking about your identity just like he asked the seven sons Sceva; and then Jesus Christ will also reject you which means you have no identity at all. Although you claim to be a believer without knowing that God has rejected you a long time ago and you have become an impersonator. Revelation 3:15 (I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot. 16 So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth). God said there is no place for lukewarmness in His kingdom; and if you are not fully with God automatically you are going to end up in hell with the devil and his agent. The gate to the kingdom of God is a narrow gate and it require violent and serious press to enter inside. If you are not hot it will not expand for you to enter and if you are not violent you will not be able to defeat the forces of hell that want to draw you back.  The call to Christianity requires spiritual sensitivity in order to be able run the race to the finish line. 

Matthew 7:21 (Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. 22 Many will say to me on that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? 23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity).

Many will be surprised on the last day but that will not be you, in Jesus name. A constant spiritual check up is what is required in order to maintain your stand with God; Spiritual check up is a personal responsibility, no one can help you because salvation is a personal race; the scripture says; work out your own salvation with fear and trembling (Philippians 2:12). Examine yourself and be sure of where you are at the moment and always remember that there is no middle ground. 2 Corinthians 13:5 (Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves. Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates?). The question is, is Jesus Christ in you? Friends, don't run in vain, these things are not done by assumption. IS MY NAME STILL IN THE BOOK OF LIFE? REVELATIONS 20:1-15

Revelation 20:15 And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.

Many of us are busy worrying about things that are not really necessary while leaving those things which are more important. It is very important to prioritise your worry if you need to; and the number one thing that should concern you is to know where you stand in your relationship with God. The question should be, Is my name still in the book of life? How many souls can I get enlisted in the book of life today? This should be an everyday question for every child of God in order not to be taken by surprise on the last day. You have to be sure that you are going to heaven; you cannot assume salvation. Apostle Paul was very sure that his name was there and the name of others who worked with him (Philippians 4:3).

Matthew 6:31 (Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed? 32 (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things. 33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you).

Life is a journey and Christianity is a called to a race; when you give your life to Christ as a believer your name is written in the book of life which means you are no longer among the dead and it is only the living that can participate in this race in order to manifest his or her destiny to the fullest. Your certificate of birth is registered in the book of life as a born again child of God. The book of life is what contains the list of every child that is born in the household of God and to maintain your name in this great book requires that you take personal responsibility. The essence of this race called destiny is to be able to fulfil the purpose of God for you here on earth and then still make it to heaven. When you finish your race at the end of the day and get to the entrance, the book will be open and the Angel will check for your name; but the question still remains the same, would your name be found in the book of life? What good would it be, that at the end of the race your name will be found missing from the book of life; that agony will be for eternity, nobody will console you because in hell everyone will be busy focusing on their pain. Friends, don't be deceived, heaven is real and hell is real; I am not assuming things, I am speaking from experience; I have had a series of encounters concerning this matter of heaven and hell but let me share this particular one in this message. Three years ago I had this great encounter, where I found myself in front of a gate and I was to observe an incident. I saw a woman that I know personally standing with the Angels and she said to them that she is hot and needed water to drink but the Angel replied and said, no, that she cannot have water to drink until Jesus comes and says so. While I was still standing, Jesus Christ came and he said they should give her water to drink and at that point I woke up. When I woke up I prayed to God to have mercy and give her a second chance that she would not die because she was already at the gate of hell about to enter. That same day I got a call that she was found lying in the kitchen in a coma but that miraculously she regained her consciousness. The Lord said to me, i have given her another chance so that she can give her life to Christ. Friends, the secret of that encounter is that I have been interceding for her and others, claiming their soul for Christ and he heard me. Please don't cease to pray for the unsaved souls around you; remember it is the will of God that all men should be saved. 1 Timothy 2:3 (For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour; 4 Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth. 5 For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus);  

John 4:10 (Jesus answered and said unto her, If thou knewest the gift of God, and who it is that saith to thee, Give me to drink; thou wouldest have asked of him, and he would have given thee living water. 11 The woman saith unto him, Sir, thou hast nothing to draw with, and the well is deep: from whence then hast thou that living water? 13 Jesus answered and said unto her, Whosoever drinketh of this water shall thirst again: 14 But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life. 15 The woman saith unto him, Sir, give me this water, that I thirst not, neither come hither to draw).

Are you thirsty? Is your name in the book of life? Don´t assume salvation because it will be too risky for you; and you don't need to keep going to the well every time when you can have the living water himself living inside of you. Our God is a merciful God and Jesus Christ is the living water; you don't need to get to the gate of hell before you ask him for the water, you may not be that lucky. Now that you have the opportunity to drink this water why should you wait; be like the Samaritan woman and pray this salvation prayer below and be blessed, in Jesus name.

STAND ON THE WATCH

Habakkuk 2:1 I will stand upon my watch, and set me upon the tower, and will watch to see what he will say unto me, and what I shall answer when I am reproved.

Standing on the watch is a personal responsibility; everyone will have to answer for themselves; I can´t answer for you and you cannot answer for me, we all need to face our situation and speak for ourselves. That is exactly what Habakkuk was talking about; he said, i will stand he didn't say we will stand. In the parable of the widow and the unjust judge; she kept appearing before the unjust judge everyday until  he finally got tired and decided to answer her; she was keeping the watch by herself. Many are not ready to stand on the watch and give answer to God when they are reproved; they are not ready to be scolded; they get easily upset with God and that is why they have remained in the same situation for a very long time. Prayer is a warfare and it is also a dialogue between God and man. Warfare in the sense that someone is keeping what is rightly yours and you need to battle with him or her in order to take back what is yours. Remember the thief came to steal, to kill and to destroy (John 10:10); You can't dialogue with the devil, he does not understand that language the only language he understands is power. And the violent take it by force (Matthew 11:28). Prayer is a dialogue between you and God in the sense that you want Him to intervene on your behalf and to back you up in the battlefield; but He wants you to present your case to prove that you are worthy of His intervention. You also need to communicate with Him for battle strategy; So, there is going to be communication between you and God; that is why Habakkuk says that he is ready with his response and that he is ready to receive correction. The dialogue between Habakkuk and God is a typical example of supplication. He was very expectant because He knows that His God is not a dummy god.  

Isaiah 41:21 (Produce your cause, saith the LORD; bring forth your strong reasons, saith the King of Jacob). You don't sit down in one place to answer this  kind of question, you need to get yourself up there in a tower where everyone will hear you. No matter how stubborn that issue is, he will hear you. God will not come down with your answers until you get yourself upon the tower; you need to make an effort to reach Him. Habakkuk eventually got his result. He sought and he found because it is only them who seek that found. When seeking God there is the right position to place yourself; and it is called divine positioning. Until you are divinely positioned it will never get to your turn. Until you put your eyes on the watch, it will never get to your time. Our God is a God of time and season but when your appointed time eventually comes and the book of remembrance is open in your favour would you be found at the right place? The Angel that brought good news to Marry met her where she was supposed to be; the Angel that brought news of Samson's birth to his mother met her where she was supposed to be and when her husband needed clarification they went to the same place to wait for the Angel. So, stop wondering around for a miracle to drop on you; position yourself well and stand on the watch. 

Luke 18:6 (And the Lord said, Hear what the unjust judge saith. 7 And shall not God avenge his own elect, which cry day and night unto him, though he bear long with them? 8 I tell you that he will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth?). 

If you are not tired of presenting your case He will not be tired of mobilizing the host of heaven to defend you in that case but the issue is that by the time your result is ready would you be there to receive it? because only those who put their faith in God will remain standing to receive their package. Daniel 10:8 (Therefore I was left alone, and saw this great vision, and there remained no strength in me: for my comeliness was turned in me into corruption, and I retained no strength). Daniel continued to wait for his answer alone even when there was no strength remaining in him and God was concerned because He had released his answer and then He sent Angel Michael to go and battle with the entity that hijacked his answer (Daniel 10:8-21). Friends, stop confusing the Angel that is carrying your file, stay in the right place and continue to be on the watch. There is one humorous statement I used to make, in the church I like to maintain a permanent seat and if not at least in the same row and whenever I am asked, I used to tell them that I don't want the Angel to start looking for me and thinking that I was not in the Church. It is funny, but I actually believe it. If you are not in a relationship with God there will be no need for dialogue and you cannot ask for His intervention. That is why He is giving you another opportunity today to enter into a relationship with Him by praying this salvation prayer below and be blessed, in Jesus name.
