John 4: 28. The woman then left her waterpot, and went her way into the city, and saith to the men, 29. Come, see a man, which told me all things that ever I did: is not this the Christ?
Why did she do that? You may ask.
She did the right thing. Remember she was actually in search for salvation(base on our last episode " A THIRSTY WOMAN AND A SAVIOUR) and she found Jesus our saviour. And Jesus said
" Matthew 11: 28. Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest"
The woman did not just leave her water pot. She left it with Jesus and went her way to share the goodnews with others. The scripture did not tell us that she came back for it. When you find Jesus, you don't need to carry or labour under the sin of the past. You no longer need to carry those burdens anymore, drop it at His feet. Make yourself light. Excess luggage will not even allow you to move, ñot to even talk about becoming a disciple.
If she did not drop that water pot, she would not have been able to move fast enough to the city and call others to come and see Jesus.
I notice that anytime Jesus call people to set them free, they always drop something. Example: Blind Bartmaeus. Mark 10: 50. And he, casting away his garment, rose, and came to Jesus.
I don't know what your own water pot may be, but right now as you are reading through this and you have not accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and saviour. Now , is the right time to do just that. Is the first step to your life of freedom.
Secondly, drop those burdens which represents your water pot and move quickly before it is too late.
Lord Jesus, I come to you today, I am a sinner, I cannot help myself, forgive me my sins, cleanse me with your precious blood. Deliver me from sin and Satan to serve the living God. Lord Jesus, I accept you as my Lord and saviour. Now I know , I am Born Again, I am free! Amen
