FREEDOM FROM CONDEMNATION: PART 1 (THE WOMAN CAUGHT IN ADULTERY
FREEDOM FROM CONDEMNATION: PART 1 (THE WOMAN CAUGHT IN ADULTERY) JOHN 8:3-12
John 8:3(And the scribes and Pharisees brought unto him a woman taken in adultery; and when they had set her in the midst; 10. When Jesus had lifted up himself, and saw none but the woman, he said unto her, woman, where are those thine accusers? hath no man condemned thee? 11. She said, No man, Lord. And Jesus said unto her, Neither do I condemn thee: go, and sin no more).
Condemnation can come in different forms. The woman in our text today was caught in adultery. She was found guilty according to her accusers and she was condemned to die by stoning, which means she was already a dead woman. Her story took a new turn as soon as she was brought to Jesus. I don’t know what accusation they have laid against you, but today your situation is turning around in Jesus name. Jesus did not ask her accusers the where about of the man he was caught with; they said she was condemned according to their law. Jesus stooped down and wrote something on the ground. I believe he was writing the original law, not the one they have turned upside down to favour only one side. And also to re-write the destiny of that woman to the original image God created her to be before Satan put her in that bondage of adultery. In life, we need to look beyond the physical, so that we will not end up being condemned in trying to condemn others. Satan withheld her real identity but Jesus restored it and those her accusers saw it and disappeared. Jesus is still in the business of restoration and you are next in line. Your own case or situation may not be adultery; you don’t need to be in that bondage anymore. Jesus came to save us not to condemn. One thing Satan knows how to do best is to push his victims hard enough until they meet with their savior or he consumes them. He has been tormenting that helpless woman, when he thought he had finally nailed her, she met with her savior. Jesus told her to go and sin no more. What a joy, Jesus is alive and he is still setting people free. Come to him and you shall be set free in Jesus name.
Lord Jesus, I come to you today, I am a sinner, I cannot help myself, forgive me my sins, cleanse me with your precious blood. Deliver me from sin and Satan to serve the living God. Lord Jesus, I accept you as my Lord and saviour. Now I know, I am Born Again, I am free! Amen.
