Genesis 32:24 And Jacob was left alone; and there wrestled a man with him until the breaking of the day. 25 And when he saw that he prevailed not against him, he touched the hollow of his thigh; and the hollow of Jacob's thigh was out of joint, as he wrestled with him. 26 And he said, Let me go, for the day breaketh. And he said, I will not let thee go, except thou bless me. 27 And he said unto him, What is thy name? And he said, Jacob. 28 And he said, Thy name shall be called no more Jacob, but Israel: for as a prince hast thou power with God and with men, and hast prevailed. 29 And Jacob asked him, and said, Tell me, I pray thee, thy name. And he said, Wherefore is it that thou dost ask after my name? And he blessed him there.
Life is a battlefield and not a fun fare; we are not here on earth to catch fun; we are here for a serious business. The race of destiny is a serious business; the bible says that he called his ten servants and gave them pounds and said occupy till I come (Luke 19:13-24). God does not joke with the business of destiny because He has a particular purpose in mind when He was forming you in your mother's womb. ThatÅ› why He carefully forms you to meet His purpose here on earth (Psalm 139:14-16). If you want a change of name then prepare to wrestle with God. Wrestling with God means that you refuse to give up on your assignment; it means that you are holding on tight to what the word of God says concerning you even when it looks as if nothing is going to change. When it comes to the battle of destiny we have to know who we are battling with and that will help us with battle strategies and how to channel our prayers; we are not battling with the kingdom of darkness alone as a redeemed child of God; our battles go beyond the kingdom of darkness. We have to wrestle with God to prove that we are ready to take off and manifest our destiny. Most of the things we go through in life as child of God are trials; these trials are the spiritual examination that we need to take and pass in order to earn the points that we need to manifest our God ordained destiny to the fullest. It is wisdom to know who you are wrestling with in order not battle in vain; if you have defeated Satan and his agents that are standing on your way but because you're not in tune with the Spirit of God to know that you have won the battle; you will continue to bombarded heaven and yet the answers will refuse to come. At this point Satan and his agents are no longer your problem and you will know it deep inside you; then, it is time to focus on God and engage Him with His word and give Him reason you must win the wrestling match with Him. You don't join forces to wrestle with God, you have to do it alone; the bible said Jacob was left alone. Jacob went back to the same place He encountered God; the exact place where the dream was given to him; he went there because the dream was not manifesting. The wrestling between man and God comes in different forms, so it must not be like that of Jacob. Jacob was asleep at the same spot years back and God spoke to him in a dream and he woke up from his sleep and said God was here and he did not know. In this particular encounter he prepared himself to meet with God and also to collect his blessing of a change of name by force; Genesis 32:26 (And he said, Let me go, for the day breaketh. And he said, I will not let thee go, except thou bless me). He was very determined Matthew 11:12 (And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffereth violence, and the violent take it by force). God want us to be desperate for a change of story; he does not want us to be comfortable with our situation; He want to us to know that we are destined to move from glory to glory (2 Corinthians 2:18); He want us to know that there is more to accomplish for Him; He make it possible for us to know that it is not a perfect day yet. Proverbs 4:18 (But the path of the just is as the shining light, that shineth more and more unto the perfect day). God love us so much and He want to see us to succeed in our assignment but He is very careful in order not to lose us by giving us everything at once without us proving to Him that we are going to be committed to the assignment; that's the reason why He engage us in a wrestling match with Him. If God did not want to release the blessing to Jacob He would not make His present known to Him nor give Him opportunity to wrestle with Him. many have wrestled but they got tired just as the day was about to break; but you that are reading this message will stay till day break in Jesus name. Proverbs 24:10 (If thou faint in the day of adversity, thy strength is small). God will renew your strength in Jesus name. Friends, if you are still hiring professional prayer warriors to pray for you, then you are not ready for a change of name. Jacob was tired of running away from his brother Esau and needed to return home but first of all he needed to wrestle with God for a change of name before meeting with his brother. Have you been praying and the answer refuses to come or have you been serving in His vineyard and your reward refusing to manifest or have you received a word from God and everything seems to be working contrary to the word; then this message is for you. You need to analyse your situation and re strategies. Go back to God like Jacob did and settle it with Him in battle and you will have your testimony in Jesus name. The same way Israel's name cannot be erased from heaven and on earth; you also can earn a name but it requires a genuine relationship. In case you are not yet in a relationship with God; here is another opportunity by praying this salvation prayer below and be blessed in Jesus name.
Lord Jesus, I come to you today, I am a sinner, and I cannot help myself, forgive me my sins, and cleanse me with your precious blood. Deliver me from sin and Satan to serve the living God. Lord Jesus, I accept you as my Lord and saviour. Now I know I am Born Again, Amen.
