THE PENANCE OF KING DAVID; PART 2 (THE NEED FOR BROKENNESS)

THE PENANCE OF KING DAVID; PART 2(THE NEED FOR BROKENNESS)

Psalm 51:7 Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean: wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow. 8 Make me to hear joy and gladness; that the bones which thou hast broken may rejoice. 9 Hide thy face from my sins, and blot out all mine iniquities. 10 Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me. 11 Cast me not away from thy presence; and take not thy holy spirit from me.

The more reason why we should be conscious of our sin is because we have the Spirit of God in us and the spirit of God hates evil. When the Spirit of God left King Saul the evil spirit entered him; the same David was hired to chase the evil spirit away by playing harp (1 Samuel 16:14-23); so, David knows what it meant not to be in the presence of God. He also asks for a clean heart because our heart is the connecting link between us and God and when the heart is corrupted the connection will automatically be cut off. It is good to study the word of God and let it become an integral part of your life, so that when you are in trouble you will know exactly how to reach God. David was repeating the word of God in the book of  (Ezekiel 36:23-38) after that David knew that God had heard him and he got up from the floor and ate. God's word is His language and we all should learn how to speak this language because we are the citizens of heaven.

Ezekiel 36:25 (Then will I sprinkle clean water upon you, and ye shall be clean: from all your filthiness, and from all your idols, will I cleanse you. 26 A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you a heart of flesh. 27 And I will put my spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes, and ye shall keep my judgments, and do them).

A stony heart is a dead heart, a heart of disobedience, an evil heart, satanic heart.  God has to save David´s heart from being completely dead, he did not want Satan to turn David into his agent. He sent a messenger to go and speak to him and remind him of his sin in case he did not know; many times God has tried to do the same to us and many of us have ignored and moved on with our lives as if nothing has happened. David quickly went into serious PENANCE; he lost the child so he will know the pain of losing someone; he inflicted pain to the family of Uriah the Hittite and he never cared. What many people are going through now may be as a result of God trying to draw our tension to something that we have done wrong and He did not want us to continue that way. It is good to ask questions when our situation refuses to change and the answers to our prayers are not forthcoming. ¨O God, show me my record¨ Is there anything I need to correct? instead of blaming God for not answering your prayer or changing your situation? Speaking from experience; I have been privileged many times to receive instruction from God. But at the early stage of my relationship with God I never knew it was a calling; when I receive such instruction for my close friend or relative I will just casually drop it to them. Most times we have prayed our issue through and all we need is just a divine direction but if we are not rightly positioned we may not hear from God and in His mercy He may look for someone close to you and send you a message. Whenever I get such a message, If it is prayer I will take it upon myself and pray it through without a word to those concerns and i prefer it that way because i don't want people to insult me or saying what the hell is she talking about; in fact back then i used to be over sensitive. But most of the time these messages come as pure instruction or direction. God knows how to train His children and get us in the right direction; He gave me a message in 2014 and I did not follow up properly and as a result a child died; I actually delivered the message but I did not put pressure on them to take action because it was something that required action. I never knew because I was still growing in the area of intercession. In 2018 when God drew my attention to what happened then; I felt sorry and guilty and immediately went into penance without trying to analyse the situation surrounding the incident. Our negligence towards others can anger God; I learn to take my Job seriously no matter the insult, that is your problem, so long I have done my own part. David came out of that PENANCE with the famous Psalm 51. He asks God to create in him a new heart because it has been replaced with the heart of a stone and he also asks for a re-newer of God Spirit in Him; He recognizes the emptiness. If that child did not die, believe me David will not know how bad his crime was; but it does not need to be that way. David mentions his crime, blood guiltiness; so we need to mention exactly what we have done when praying for forgiveness; don´t assume that God knows. PENANCE is meant to restore us back to God and to His original intention concerning our life. It brings peace and joy that accompany salvation; It is for our restoration; It is meant for us to know and to understand God and also to teach others about His goodness and loving kindness and to win souls to God. So, it is not meant to punish us. It is meant for our prosperity because after the creation of a new heart, the children of Israel were restored and God made their Land fruitful; and for David He made a new covenant with him.

Psalm 51:12 Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation; and uphold me with thy free spirit. 13 Then will I teach transgressors thy ways; and sinners shall be converted unto thee. 14 Deliver me from bloodguiltiness, O God, thou God of my salvation: and my tongue shall sing aloud of thy righteousness. 15 O Lord, open thou my lips; and my mouth shall shew forth thy praise. 16 For thou desirest not sacrifice; else would I give it: thou delightest not in burnt offering. 17 The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: a broken and a contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not despise. 18 Do good in thy good pleasure unto Zion: build thou the walls of Jerusalem. 19 Then shalt thou be pleased with the sacrifices of righteousness, with burnt offering and whole burnt offering: then shall they offer bullocks upon thine altar.

Ezekiel 36:28 And ye shall dwell in the land that I gave to your fathers; and ye shall be my people, and I will be your God. 30 And I will multiply the fruit of the tree, and the increase of the field, that ye shall receive no more reproach of famine among the heathen.

PRAYER:

O Lord, have mercy upon me; i am sorry for my sin; cleanse me with your precious blood and renew the right spirit within me O God my Father. Take away the stony heart from me and give me a heart of flesh; and I vow to return all the glory to your holy name. Thank you Jesus for restoring me to the original image you have created me.

Friends, I am also learning today by revelation that Psalm 51 was inspired from the book of Ezekiel 36. May the Lord continue to guide us as we continue in this journey, in Jesus name. Please read more about it in your private study. There is no assumption when it comes to salvation; if you are not saved then you are not safe; in case you are not yet a child of God; cease this opportunity to become one of us by praying this salvation prayer below and blessed, in Jesus name.

Lord Jesus, I come to you today, I am a sinner, and I cannot help myself, forgive me my sins, and cleanse me with your precious blood. Deliver me from sin and Satan to serve the living God. Lord Jesus, I accept you as my Lord and saviour. Now I know I am Born Again, Amen.

THE PENANCE OF DAVID; PART 1

THE PENANCE OF KING DAVID; PART 1 (A BROKEN SPIRIT AND A CONTRITE HEART) 2 SAMUEL 12:1-20

Psalm 51:17 The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: a broken and a contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not despise.

The issue of PENANCE is very important to God; He does not want to raise children who have no conscience. We can only appease God when we are sorry for our sin; a broken spirit and a contrite heart; that is a heart that seeks repentance; a sorrowful heart (2 Corinthian 7:9-10). David killed Uriah and took his wife and pretended as if nothing happened and God hated that. David has to be punished for his sin despite being the man after God's heart. David was not ready for the PENANCE until God struck his child. 2 Samuel 12:13 (And David said unto Nathan, I have sinned against the LORD. And Nathan said unto David, The LORD also hath put away thy sin; thou shalt not die. 14 Howbeit, because by this deed thou hast given great occasion to the enemies of the LORD to blaspheme, the child also that is born unto thee shall surely die). It was actually meant to help him because he would have gone the way of King Saul and said I have sinned against God and left it that way. God wanted him to know how grievous his offence was and to get his attention the child needed to die. I pray for someone reading this message; the grace to recognize your sin before God does, receive it, in Jesus name. If king David showed remorse and entered into PENANCE before Nathan the prophet came with a message from God maybe the child would have been saved. The aim of Satan is to course us to delay in starting our PENANCE so that the judgement will set in; he is called the ancient dragon; he knows the law of God. Please don´t allow him to take advantage of your ignorance. The difference between David and Saul was love; God punished his children that He loved to correct them. Proverbs 19:18 (Chasten thy son while there is hope, and let not thy soul spare for his crying).  2 Samuel 7:14 (I will be his father, and he shall be my son. If he commits iniquity, I will chasten him with the rod of men, and with the stripes of the children of men: 15 But my mercy shall not depart away from him, as I took it from Saul, whom I put away before thee. 16 And thine house and thy kingdom shall be established for ever before thee: thy throne shall be established for ever. 17 According to all these words, and according to all this vision, so did Nathan speak unto David). So, God did not hate you, he loved you so much and he does not want you to lose your throne and your place in heaven that is why He is trying to get your attention and to get you to do the right thing. During that period of Penance David was able to reflect on his action and what he was going to lose and what he had lost. He recognizes what it means if he loses the relationship that he had with God. Let's look at how to go about the prayer using Psalm 51.

Psalm 51:1 Have mercy upon me, O God, according to thy lovingkindness: according unto the multitude of thy tender mercies blot out my transgressions.

First, you need to recognize how empty you have become and then humble yourself; David was on the floor for complete seven days in fasting and prayers (2 Samuel 12:16-20). The city of Nineveh wore rags and lay in ashes for 3 days with prayer and fasting; and God reversed the judgement against them. Lamentations 3:22 (It is of the LORD's mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not). You need to ask for mercy and tell God that you are deeply sorry. Mercy will always get God's attention no matter whose person it is coming from. When we ask for mercy we get God to listen to what we have to say. The blind Barthmeaus asked for mercy and Jesus stood still and asked him, what do you want me to do for you? (Mark 10:47-52).  David begins to confess his sin and own up to everything he has done. When asking for forgiveness you don't try to justify your action; if you are still trying to tell God the reason why you did what you do; then don't waste your time in PENANCE because you are not ready.

Psalm 51:2( Wash me throughly from mine iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin. 3 For I acknowledge my transgressions: and my sin is ever before me. 4 Against thee, thee only, have I sinned, and done this evil in thy sight: that thou mightest be justified when thou speakest, and be clear when thou judgest).

Sin stains and creates a gap between us and God; when we are stained by our sin the Spirit of God will depart from us because He said be ye Holy for I am Holy (1 Peter 1:16). Leviticus 20:7(Sanctify yourselves therefore, and be ye holy: for I am the LORD your God). David knows that he is no longer clean, his spiritual life has been contaminated and thereby cannot secure the presence of God, that's why he quickly pleads for mercy and then asks for cleansing. The blood of Jesus is our hope in this matter; he is there to cleanse us from every unrighteousness. When we go into Penance we take cover in the blood of Jesus against the avengers of blood. The blood of Jesus is our city of refuge (Deuteronomy 19:1-10). He said when I see the blood I will pass over; when we begin to plead the blood of Jesus, he will cleanse our conscience and those evil thoughts that cause people to sin will not enter, it will pass over. Hebrews 10:19(Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus, 22 Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water). The main objective of PENANCE is to keep our conscience alive and to do that, the evil conscience needs to be buried.

Have it in your mind that whatever evil you do against anyone you are doing it against God; you don't sin against your fellow human you sin against God who is the judge of all and will judge all your actions. Joseph did not say that he did not want to sin against his master; no, he said how can I do this great wickedness and sin against God? (Genesis 39:9); David says that he has done evil in the sight of God and sin against Him.

PRAYER:

Lord Jesus, have mercy on me, I know I have sinned against you and done what you considered evil. I have no reason for my action,............. You can fill in the space by mentioning exactly what you have done. I am so sorry Father, I feel so empty, without you there is no me; forgive me my sin and wash me clean with your precious blood; sanctify me holy so that I can be worthy enough to be in your presence. Then follow Psalm 51 step by step. Since we sin every second and everyday; It should be our daily routine but if there is any profound sin; it should be done with fasting and separation.

Note, for you to even feel bad  when you offend God, you need to be in a Love relationship with Him. your heart is the connecting link between you and God; he pays attention to those who are in a love relationship with Him. Friends, in case you are not yet in a Love relationship with God, this is your opportunity to enter into it by praying this salvation prayer below and be blessed in Jesus name. I believe you have been blessed with this message; Please, don´t forget to like and share. God bless you.

THE PENANCE: PART 2

Numbers 14:4 And they said one to another, Let us make a captain, and let us return into Egypt. 5 Then Moses and Aaron fell on their faces before all the assembly of the congregation of the children of Israel. 6 And Joshua the son of Nun, and Caleb the son of Jephunneh, which were of them that searched the land, rent their clothes:

If you don't feel bad about your wrong doing the likelihood of you doing it again is high. You need to feel bad about sin; you need to hate sin with a perfect hatred in order to be able to defeat him. How can you fight what you love? It is not possible, and that is the reason why you need to hate sin. PENANCE is to make a sinner hate his or her own sin. In a football match every player hates penalties against their team and they are very careful not to offend their opponent in a way that will make the referee issue a penalty against their team. That is exactly what Penance does, to stop us from offending God. There are so many things we do that God considers as an abomination unto Him and can bring delay to our destiny and calamities into our lives. Sin goes beyond adultery, fornication, lies, idolatry, stealing, murder, witchcraft and so on. Murmuring and complaining against God is a sin and God takes it very seriously. Disobeying divine instruction is a sin, and stubborness is a sin and one needs to repent from such things. 1 Samuel 15:23 (For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry. Because thou hast rejected the word of the LORD, he hath also rejected thee from being king. 24 And Saul said unto Samuel, I have sinned: for I have transgressed the commandment of the LORD, and thy words: because I feared the people, and obeyed their voice). King Saul lost his throne because of rebellion and stubborness; I pray for you today, you will not lose your throne in Jesus name. This is so scary to know that if we reject GodÅ› instruction, He also will reject us. PENANCE means punishing oneself for going against God's commandment. First, you need to turn from your evil way and tell God that you are sorry, and then ask for forgiveness with tears and a sober heart. The main objective of PENANCE is to put the fear of God in our heart and also to keep our conscience alive. Satan's target is to kill your conscience and when your conscience is dead, you will become his full time agent; God forbid; but with your conscience intact he will not be able to recruit you. Christ wants our conscience to be fully awake so that we can end our journey well. We need to be conscious of our sin because whenever we go against God's instruction; it creates a gap between us and Him and for us to go close to Him again; there is need for PENANCE. Moses all through their journey in the wilderness teaches the children of Israel about the importance of PENANCE and they continue to practise it. Friends, please do not be deceived that all is well when you sin and just say O God forgive me; your approach towards asking for that forgiveness counts a lot. Your state of mind; because God works with our heart not what we say. Your action counts a lot; what step did you take in asking for that forgiveness; that is where the issue of PENANCE comes in. Moses was not the one that rebelled against God but yet he fell on his face immediately and Joshua and Aaron rent their own clothes; and those that refuse to do the same perish in the wilderness (Number 14:1-45). When a Achan sin by stolen the accursed thing and cause problem in the camp; Joshua sensing that it can only be sinned that made them lost the battle the way they did; he did not wait neither was he claiming to be right he rent his cloth and lies in ashes; that is PENANCE and God reveal to him what the problem was (Joshua 7:1-11). It works and is still working today. Let us find time to study the relationship between Moses and God, no wonder God said he is the meekest man that ever lived. You lead by example; Mosese was an exemplary leader. People watch what you do and copy and not what you say per se. This topic was birthed when I was studying the book of Numbers. I was amazed the way Moses approached God when the people sin, not him but the people. Moses will tell them to afflict themselves and go into fasting and pleading for mercy and forgiveness. We should not be tired of doing so either. No matter how many times you fall, get up and go into PENANCE immediately. They kept falling and they kept fighting the sin until they possessed their possession; you will get there, in Jesus name. Friends, i don't know what is delaying you but with this little knowledge, i Pray that you will begin to make headway in your journey, in Jesus name. I don 't know who needs to reconnect with God today, please don´t keep Him waiting because His arms are open to receive you; quickly pray this salvation prayer below and be blessed, in Jesus name. The next  topic will be on how to do the prayer and how to use Psalm 51 effectively. I believe you have been blessed with this message; please kindly like and also share so that others can benefit from it.

THE PENANCE (SELF PUNISHMENT FOR COMMITTING SIN) PART 1: JONAH 3:1-10

Many of us are ignorant of how to deal with the issue of sin and that is why we are unable to win the fight against sin. One thing I know for sure is that if you don´t stop sin, sin will stop you, but that will not be you, in Jesus name. This particular topic is an eye opener and is going to be a long series; I pray for you that God will give you the grace and patience to follow through the series and also to open the eyes of your understanding, in Jesus name. Sin is the number one enemy of your glorious destiny; sin is as old as the world itself. As soon as man was introduced in the book of Genesis; sin introduced himself to man also; sin is intrusive; he will try to force himself on us in a subtle but yet aggressive manner; it is a tricky thing. 1 Peter 5:8 (Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour): And what PENANCE does is to help us in the battle against sin. PENANCE means self punishment for doing the wrong thing; it is self inflicted pain that serves as a reminder to the individual when next he or she finds himself in that same act again. PENANCE is a way of keeping one's conscience alive; It is a way we express our guilt to God and tell Him that we are deeply sorry for going against His instruction.

Jonah 3:4 (And Jonah began to enter into the city a day's journey, and he cried, and said, Yet forty days, and Nineveh shall be overthrown. 5 So the people of Nineveh believed God, and proclaimed a fast, and put on sackcloth, from the greatest of them even to the least of them. 6 For word came unto the king of Nineveh, and he arose from his throne, and he laid his robe from him, and covered him with sackcloth, and sat in ashes. 7 And he caused it to be proclaimed and published through Nineveh by the decree of the king and his nobles, saying, Let neither man nor beast, herd or flock, taste any thing: let them not feed, nor drink water: 8 But let man and beast be covered with sackcloth, and cry mightily unto God: yea, let them turn every one from his evil way, and from the violence that is in their hands. 9 Who can tell if God will turn and repent, and turn away from his fierce anger, that we perish not? 10 And God saw their works, that they turned from their evil way; and God repented of the evil, that he had said that he would do unto them; and he did it not.)

PENANCE is a way of telling God that you know you have sinned and that you deserve to be punished and that you are starting your punishment by yourself to gain His forgiveness. The issue of sin, to God, is an emotional thing; and for us to get God to forgive us, we need to approach it with strong emotion. He is a jealous God and sin is a betrayal. God loves us that is why He is jealous anytime we choose something else over Him; we are married to Him and He has given us His Spirit because He trusts us and when we go out there with His Spirit doing evil things that is betrayal. David knows what it means to have the Spirit of God with him. Psalm 51:11 (Cast me not away from thy presence; and take not thy holy spirit from me). You can only betray someone that you are in a relationship with; betrayal brings about temporary disconnection that can lead to permanent separation if not well handled. PENANCE is to bring about reconnection in order to avoid total separation that can lead to hell fire. Satan is the father of sin and he has mastered the act of deceiving people; he will delay the individual by stopping them from going into penance immediately after the sin is committed; knowing fully that it will reach a time the punishment will kick in and the individual will enter into trouble with God. if you delay in your confession and repentance; then the punishment will set in. God is a covenant keeping God and He has a lay down principle for those who are the citizens of heaven. Do not be deceived when it comes to the issue of sin; it is an individual thing; be wise and choose how you want to fight your battle against sin and win by following the spiritual principle that was laid down by God. There is no forgiveness without repentance; the way you feel about sin will determine your victory over sin. You need to hate sin with passion and feel very bad when it seems that he is winning. Let your love for God be ignited enough to burn every form of sin. Love is the number one way to get into serious penance; it is another way of showing that we Love God and we feel bad sinning against Him. when you Love God loving your neighbour will be easy; notice that Joseph did not say that he did not want to sin against his master, he said how can he do this great wickedness and sin against God (Genesis 39:9); So any evil you do against your neighbour is a sin against God and the punishment is from God. Friends, it is time to weigh our Love for God on a scale because if you are not feeling bad about sin then your love and relationship with God is questionable. We all have sin and come short of the glory of God (Roman 3:23); If you really want to see Jesus you need to overcome sin because it is only those who overcome that will see Jesus. How you feel about sin is what will determine whether you are going to win this battle or not. The reason why people keep falling into sin is because they are ignorant of how to deal with the issue of sin. Another name for sin is betrayal; when you sin, you betray God and what do you do when you know that you have betrayed somebody? You need to confess, repent and then ask for forgiveness. It is only those who are conscious of their actions that ask for forgiveness. The  people of Nineveh heard the preaching of Noah and went into PENANCE; they repented in ashes. I know this message is meant for someone; in case you want God's forgiveness; don´t wait any longer, delay is dangerous. Go down to your knees, confess to Him, tell him what you have done with your mouth, and tell Him you will not do it again and then pray the salvation prayer below and be reconnected and be blessed in Jesus name. I know you have been blessed with this message, please click like and share so that others can benefit from it also.
