JESUS IS STILL BLEEDING. PART 1 (The Easter Reflections)

Disappointment is what leads to a broken heart; only those who have a place in your heart can break it because of their actions, and inaction. Expectations not met is what led to heartbreak; promises not kept is what led to heartbreak; unfulfilled dreams with a trusted partner is what led to heartbreak; some recover while some may never recover from it. Some broken hearts never mend, while some lead to destruction. The Book of John is one of the books in the Bible that makes me shed tears; it focuses more on the emotional side of Jesus Christ, pouring out his heart for his love. Please find time to go through it again.

Jesus spoke about himself. He introduced himself to us in the first chapter of John, and what he suffered at the hands of those he came for, and what he expected from us.

Song of Solomon 8:6 Set me as a seal upon thine heart, as a seal upon thine arm: for love is strong as death; jealousy is cruel as the grave: the coals thereof are coals of fire, which hath a most vehement flame. 7 Many waters cannot quench love, neither can the floods drown it: if a man would give all the substance of his house for love, it would utterly be contemned.

If love is as strong as King Solomon described in the scripture above, then Jesus will continue to bleed from heartbreak. You may ask, Nene, what makes you think I am part of his grieving? Yes, you are part of his pain because he came because of you, he went through humiliation because of you, and he gave us only one instruction, which is to love the way he loves us. The love that he is talking about requires that you lay down your worldly desire for what he cares for; he wants you to bear fruit, that is, to replicate his job, to multiply and replenish the earth. He wants you to populate his kingdom by portraying his character and witnessing for him (Mark 16:15 and Acts 1:8). This is the truth: no matter what you do, if you are not winning souls for his kingdom, you are breaking his heart.

John 15:13 Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends. 14 Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you.

John 15:16 Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you.

John 10:15 As the Father knoweth me, even so know I the Father: and I lay down my life for the sheep. 16 And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold: them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice; and there shall be one fold, and one shepherd. 17 Therefore doth my Father love me, because I lay down my life, that I might take it again. 18 No man taketh it from me, but I lay it down of myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This commandment have I received of my Father.

Friends, Easter celebration is the time set aside to reflect on the sacrifice of Jesus and re-adjust our attitude, and re-align with his character. It is a time to renew our marital vow with Jesus; it is time to go out there and tell the world about his sacrifice. It is a time to adjust ourselves and be a true representative of Jesus. We cannot continue to put him in open shame by what we do and how we present ourselves in society. He redeemed us as kings and priests to rule here on earth. To show the world how the kingdom of God operates, but many believers have turned themselves into a pegan. Our attitude is not making the world want to know Jesus.

The Easter period is the time of reflection for every bona fide child of God; it is the time of retrospect; it is a sober period. It is time to check our marriage contract with Jesus to see if our part of the agreement is being fulfilled. We need to ask ourselves one question: Is Jesus proud of me? Is Jesus disappointed in me? Is he regretting embarking on that journey to the cross because of my actions? Am I reciprocating his love for me? And am I among those who are crucifying him afresh? Friends, what is your answer? Search your heart and re-adjust because that is the only way to mend his heart.

Friends, Jesus will only reveal himself to his friends. If you are not yet his friend, please accept his friend request by praying the salvation prayer below and be blessed, in Jesus name.

Lord Jesus, I repent of my sins and accept You as my Lord and Saviour. I believe you died for me so that I could become a new man/woman. Forgive me all my sins, wash me with your blood, and give me a new heart. Thank you, Lord, for saving my soul. Now I believe I am born again. And I am a child of God. Amen!
