THE POWER OF PERSISTENCE: EXAMPLE OF THE WIDOW AND THE UNJUST JUDGE. LUKE 18:1-8

THE POWER OF PERSISTENCE: EXAMPLE OF THE WIDOW AND THE UNJUST JUDGE, LUKE 18:1-8 Luke 18: 1-6.( And he spake a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray, and not to faint; 2. Saying, There was in a city a judge, which feared not God, neither regarded man: 3. And there was a widow in that city; and she came unto him, saying, Avenge me of mine adversary. 4. And he would not for a while: but afterward he said within himself, Though I fear not God, nor regard man; 5. Yet because this widow troubleth me, I will avenge her, lest by her continual coming she weary me. 6. And the Lord said, Hear what the unjust judge saith.) Jesus was telling us how to be persistence in prayer to get what we want. The woman in our text today was a widow and she was cheated of her inheritance. She did not give up in her quest to get justice, even though everything seemed to be against her, yet she was not afraid of the corrupt judge who was in charge of her case nor her adversary who seemed to be highly connected. I pray for the person reading this “Whatever has been forcefully or maliciously taken away from you shall be restore to you in Jesus name. Looking at her circumstance it was obvious that she does not have money to bribe the judge. She knew exactly where her strength lies and how to use it to get justice. Her strength was her ability to persist, to be patient, to focus and to shun every form of distraction. Distraction comes in different ways. This widow has only one goal, and that goal is to get justice. Nobody was going to discourage her from getting it. That is the attitude God expect from us when asking for something we really want from Him and pursuing our goals in life. So, keep pressing forward. Apostle Paul said in Philippians 3:14(I press toward the mark for the prize of high calling of God in Christ Jesus). The scripture recorded that she continues disturbing the unjust judge until she wore him out. The corrupt judge said that he neither fears God nor man, but if he does not help this woman she will kill him with her persistence. He quickly grants her the justice she deserves. Jesus concluded by saying,  Luke 18:8 (And shall not God avenge His elect which cry day and night unto him, though He bear long with them). God judgment is quick, that’s the reason why we should reconcile with Him by accepting Jesus Christ as our Lord and savior Lord Jesus, I come to you today, I am a sinner, I cannot help myself, forgive me my sins, cleanse me with your precious blood. Deliver me from sin and Satan to serve the living God. Lord Jesus, I accept you as my Lord and saviour. Now I know, I am Born Again, I am free! Amen. #womanyouarefree www.womanuarefree.blogspot.com neneisahoc@gmail.com
