THE GIANT IN YOUR PROMISED LAND: NUMBER 13:17-33

Number 13:27(And they told him and said we came unto the land whither thou sentest us, and surely it floweth with milk and honey; and this is the fruit of it. 28 Nevertheless the people be strong that dwell in the land, and cities are walled, and very great: and moreover we saw the children of Anak there. 30 And Caleb stilled the people before Moses, and said, Let us go up at once and possess it; for we are well able to overcome it. 31 But the men that went up with him said we be not able to go up against the people; for they are stronger than we. 33 And there we saw the giants, the son of Anak, which come of the giants: and we were in our own sight as grasshoppers, and so we were in their sight)

We all have our promised land as believers but the willingness to possess our promised land is up to us to decide. Our promised land is a place of rest, our destination and a land flowing with milk and honey. It is God’s promise for his children and it is an exceeding good land (Number 14:7). God does not make empty promises. The promises of God for our lives are embedded in the scripture. Every promise of God comes with conditions attached to it, it is guaranteed as long as we play our part.  Deuteronomy 28 (2 And all these blessings shall come on thee and overtake thee, if thou shall hearken unto the voice of the LORD thy God). Obedience to divine instructions is a non-negotiable requirement if we really desire to possess what God has promised us. Don’t despise God’s promises, it may seem slow but it is not, he is clearing the way for you. God is not a man that should lie; he is a reliable and dependable God (Number 23:19). When the Lord is leading you, looking down on yourself is an insult to him because it is not by your power (Zechariah 4:6). When the enemies see you they would see the glory of God not you, that is just the truth and you need this mentality if you really want to possess your possession. The children of Israel saw themselves as grasshoppers except Caleb and Joshua who saw the giants as bread (Number 14:9). There is no empty promised land anywhere; good things attract all manner of wickedness. In the same way that we need to chase the honeybee away in order to get the honey, we need to fight to chase away the giants occupying our promised land in order to possess it. We need to carry the mentality of Caleb and Joshua to get the stranger out of our promised land. Caleb noticed that those inhabitants have lost their defenses whereas the others see only giants. A giant without defense is indeed bread. Those who saw themselves as grasshoppers perish while those who saw themselves as giant eaters possess their possession; it all depends on how you rate yourself and your confidence in God. Friends, do not underrate who you are in redemption. You are more than able because he that is in you is greater than he that is in them (1 John 4:4). I decree the defense of your enemies to depart now in Jesus name. At times what you are afraid of is also afraid of you and God might have even got rid of the giants but you won’t know until you get there. So, with this light go boldly and possess your promised land. God does not defend a stranger; you need to be his son or daughter. Make that choice today if you haven’t and your victory will be guaranteed.

Lord Jesus, I come to you today, I am a sinner, I cannot help myself, forgive me my sins, cleanse me with your precious blood. Deliver me from sin and Satan to serve the living God. Lord Jesus, I accept you as my Lord and savior. Now I know I am Born Again, Amen.
