THE RAGING STORM: PART 3 (THE EXAMPLE OF JONAH) JONAH 1

Jonah 1:1-3(Now the word of the LORD came unto Jonah the son of Amittai, saying, 2 a. Arise, go to Nineveh, that great city, and cry against it; for their wickedness is come up before me. 3 But Jonah rose up to flee unto Tarshish from the presence of the LORD, and went down to Joppa; and he found a ship going to Tarshish: 4 But the LORD sent out a great wind into the sea, and there was a mighty tempest in the sea, so that the ship was like to be broken) As a believer, we can invite the storm to ourselves by going against divine instruction. Disobedience to divine instruction can be very deadly. It is a risky thing to do because as a believer we have a stand by enemy who is waiting for an opportunity to pounce on us at any given chance. Friends, don’t give him the opportunity to watch you destroying yourself. Job 33(22. Yea, his soul draweth near unto the grave and his life to the destroyers). Exodus 12:23 paraphrasing (and I will not suffer the destroyer to come in unto your houses to smite you) God sent Jonah a message of repentance to the city of Nineveh; he refused and instead he decided to run away from God. How can a man run away from God? David says in Psalm 139: 7-8(Whither shall I go from thy spirit? Or whither shall I flee from thy presence? 8. If I ascend up into heaven, thou art there: If I make my bed in hell, behold, thou art there). God is omnipresent, you can’t hide from him. Jonah attracted the storm to himself by refusing to follow divine instructions. This is a serious matter. I am sure he was under manipulation because Satan has cornered the city of Nineveh into serious sins and they were about to perish. Our negligence can actually cause people their lives. We are all here on assignment and have our part to play, find out what your assignment is and run with it. His journey would have been smooth if he entered the right ship. I don’t know how far you have gone in a wrong direction; the good news is that you can still turn back. Call unto him now and he will answer you. Do it now before it is too late, you don’t need to wait to be thrown into the sea or spend three days in the belly of a fish. Just turn to the right direction and the storm will cease. You may ask, but Nene, I am already in the middle of the sea and the storm is tempestuous. Remember he walked upon the sea to rescue his disciples. God parted the red sea for the Israelites. He knows what to do. Peter was desperate and he walked upon the sea. All he requires from you is genuine repentance and you will be out that ship. Your assignment may not be like that of Jonah who was called to be a prophet. You may be called to be a lawyer, Doctor, teacher, counselor, law enforcement personnel, trader, etc. whatever you are called to do; take it serious and be focused because people are waiting for you to be saved. Your storm is over in Jesus name. Lord Jesus, I come to you today, I am a sinner, I cannot help myself, forgive me my sins, cleanse me with your precious blood. Deliver me from sin and Satan to serve the living God. Lord Jesus, I accept you as my Lord and saviour. Now I know, I am Born Again, Amen. #womanyouarefree www.womanuarefree.blogspot.com neneisahoc@gmail.com
