THE MENTORSHIP STYLE OF JESUS PART 3

THE QUALITY OF A GOOD MENTOR

There is a secret behind every success and the ability to learn and practice the secret of your mentor is what makes you a career giant and also a giant in the kingdom of God. Everything about the success of Jesus Christ is written in the bible but no one will force you to read it, it is your responsibility as a believer to study and follow the same steps and command the same exploit. John 14:12 (Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father). We are ordained to command exploit in order of Jesus.

Here we are going to discuss some of the qualities that make Jesus Christ a successful mentor so that we can follow the same in our mentorship journey.

  1. Passion: it is the drive that makes Jesus Christ a successful mentor and that is what makes him to lay his life down for his mentees. Your extraordinary love for God is proved by your love for your mentee. John 15:13 (Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends). Passion led him to lay down his life for his mentee he was not forced to do it. Passion is what makes people go the extra mile in their pursuit of God and their other endeavours. John 10:17 (Therefore doth my Father love me, because I lay down my life, that I might take it again. 18 No man taketh it from me, but I lay it down of myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This commandment have I received of my Father). You need to see your mentee the way God sees them, not the way you see them. Whenever they are in pain you are in pain also. You need to have ´by all means´ mentality; that is, your mentee must get it right no matter what happens. Jesus Christ never fails to let his mentees know how much he loves them and also communicate the right message from God to his mentees. He painted the picture of God the Father in their heart. Until your love for God gets to the level of passion you cannot be a successful mentor and mentee. You need a kingdom priority lifestyle, that is everything about the kingdom is number one in your agenda (Matthew 6:33). seeing your mentorship assignment as a business transaction between you and God with profit in view (Matthew 19:27-29, Philippians 3:14).

  2. Meekness: Both mentor and mentee are required to be humble because only the humble God will lead and also teach his way. Psalm 25:9 (The meek will guide in judgement: and the meek will teach his way). The reason people don't want to mentor you is because of your proud demeanour. And you refuse to mentor others because you see yourself above them and you fail to understand that you cannot mentor your equal in knowledge. Jesus Christ made himself of no reputation; he took a place of servant in order to make his mentees comfortable and gain their trust and attention. Philippians 2:7 (But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: 8 And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross). The job is not about you, it is about the kingdom of God so quit elevating yourself and be humble. Moses was described by God as the most humble that ever lived; he even asked God to remove his name from the book of life and save his mentees. He was a good coach and trainer and a teacher.

  3. He considered mentorship as a work; he saw it as a full time career job. 17:4 (I have glorified thee on the earth: I have finished the work which thou gavest me to do). He said to God that he has finished the work that he gave him to do. Seeing your spiritual mentorship as a job will give you a sense of responsibility and accountability. It is high time we quit using a casual approach when it comes to the things of God. If your mentee fails in their journey, you are going to be held accountable by God. Luke 16:2 (And he called him, and said unto him, How is it that I hear this of thee? give an account of thy stewardship; for thou mayest be no longer steward).

  4. TO BE CONTINUE IN THE NEXT SERIES, PLEASE KEEP FOLLOWING AND BE BLESSED IN JESUS NAME

The above listed are some of the qualities that make Jesus Christ an outstanding leader and a mentor and for us to command the same result we need to look unto him and do the same (Hebrew 12:2). He said that we are empowered to more than him (John 14:12). To be like Jesus, you need to accept him as your Lord and saviour by praying this salvation prayer below.

Lord Jesus, I come to you today, I am a sinner, and I cannot help myself, forgive me my sins, and cleanse me with your precious blood. Deliver me from sin and Satan to serve the living God. Lord Jesus, I accept you as my Lord and saviour. Now I know I am Born Again, Amen.

THE MENTORSHIP STYLE OF JESUS PART 2

Matthew 20:25 But Jesus called them unto him, and said, Ye know that the princes of the Gentiles exercise dominion over them, and they that are great exercise authority upon them. 26 But it shall not be so among you: but whosoever will be great among you, let him be your minister; 27 And whosoever will be chief among you, let him be your servant: 28 Even as the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for man.

We have a different kingdom as a citizen of heaven and we are meant to follow and learn the precept of our kingdom. The understanding of how your kingdom operates is what will determine your achievement because it is to you according to the level of your understanding. The leadership and mentorship operation in this kingdom is quite different from the world's kind of leadership and mentorship. Without understanding and practice of kingdom mentorship we may not be able to do the work of reconciliation given to us by God effectively(2 Corinthians 5:18-19). Without a servanthood mentality one will not be a successful mentor in this kingdom and the glorification title will not be in view. We all are called to be a mentor and to follow the leading and teaching of Jesus Christ and to pass the same knowledge to others. In this kingdom where we belong Jesus Christ is our leader and every other person is to take the mentality of a servant and a mentorship position. That means you are not going to Lord it over anyone. Philippians 2:5 (Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: 6 Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: 7 But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men): Your genuineness and passion as a mentor will automatically make people view you as a leader. Jesus Christ even though he is our leader saw himself as a servant; seeing yourself as a leader is a trap of the devil. He wants you to exalt yourself above others that you are meant to coach; and as soon as you occupy that position you will no longer be an effective coach. That you took a place of servant does make you less of who God has made you; it is God who advances men and not humans (1 Samuel 12:6, Philippians 2:8-10). We are here to pass down the knowledge that we have acquired in our walk with Jesus to the next generation just as ourselves has received from others. That is what Christian mentorship is all about, expanding the kingdom of God. We are to be an example for others to follow our footstep (Isaiah 51:2, Hebrews 12:2). Your authority as a mentor is not to Lord it over your mentee, no. in this kingdom the authority given to you is to use against the enemy of your mentorship job; those things that want to distract you and your mentee from achieving the set goal by God. The irony of this great call is that you can mentor someone only if you have something to show; your proof of success is what will attract people to you because you cannot give what you don´t have. Your ability to inspire others to follow you is what makes you a leader and a mentor; mentorship is not by age, it is your willingness and ability to teach, to guide, to counsel and to pass on your experience to others. Jesus Christ is an example of how a mentorship relationship should look (Philipians 2:8); he is the only mentor that died for his mentee. Jeremiah 3:15 (And I will give you pastors according to mine heart, which shall feed you with knowledge and understanding). Spiritual mentors are chosen by God because he knows that you cannot work with everybody; God pairs you with someone that you can work with and has what you need. You are to choose your mentor prayerfully so that you will not fall into any pitfall in this journey. Mentorship relationship requires mutual understanding between the mentor and the mentee. Jesus Christ is our mentor, that is why he said whosoever receives and believes in his name, he will give them power to become a child of God (John 1:12). Which means you need to receive him and also believe his word and result and then the mentorship relationship is formed. To be a successful mentor you need to possess the same quality that manifested in the life of Jesus. In our next segment we are going to focus on the qualities that make Jesus a successful mentor; please don't ́t miss following the series. You will not fail in your call in Jesus name. Friends, in case you are wondering how you can enter into this relationship with Christ; I have good news for you. Quickly pray this salvation prayer below and begin your journey with him.

THE MENTORSHIP STYLE OF JESUS PART 1

John 17:4 I have glorified thee on the earth: I have finished the work which thou gavest me to do. 5 And now, O Father, glorify thou me with thine own self with the glory which I had with thee before the world was. 6 I have manifested thy name unto the men which thou gavest me out of the world: thine they were, and thou gavest them me; and they have kept thy word. 7 Now they have known that all things whatsoever thou hast given me are of thee. 8 For I have given unto them the words which thou gavest me; and they have received them, and have known surely that I came out from thee, and they have believed that thou didst send me.

Leadership and mentorship are two different things but have some similarity; our understanding of each of these two powerful words will help us in our journey as a believer and in our walk with God and our other endeavours. Leadership is the ability to influence others and get them to follow your instruction in order to achieve a common goal; the goal in this context is to reconcile man to God and show man the way to relate and please Him and populate His kingdom. So, the assignment is very clear; and everyone knows about this general and main purpose Jesus Christ came to the world. His leadership Job is to lead us through the perfect ways to achieve this kingdom´s goal. John 14:6 (Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me). Then the mentorship job is mainly focused on individual development; that is, he is concerned on how each and everyone of us can be trained and guided in order to be able to achieve each of our separate calls effectively. The bible says diverse gifts but the same spirit works in all. 1 Corinthians 12:4 (Now there are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit. 5 And there are differences of administrations, but the same Lord. 6 And there are diversities of operations, but it is the same God which worketh all in all). That is why when it comes to mentoring you are to align with those that have a similar gift and calls like yours. But Jesus Christ can afford to mentor all of us because he has everything working in him and he can impart knowledge to all of us no matter your call. Mentoring is about influencing individuals and imparting them with the training they need to contribute effectively to the general goals of the kingdom. For example, in one church you can have some body with healing anointing another with preaching anointing but yet they may not know how to use their gift effectively, in such situation what that individual needs is a mentor, somebody who is manifesting the same gift and has done a good job using it to teach him how to make use of his gift effectively (1 Corinthian 12:7-11). The mentor ́s job is to coach the mentee but not to exercise authority over him and both are meant to be humble for easy flow of impartation of the knowledge. Jesus Christ is our perfect example in our journey as a Christian and he demonstrated the two traits perfectly and that is why we need to study his mentorship style in order to be a good mentor ourselves. When we give our life to Christ we come under his leadership and mentorship just like every other person that has given their lives to Christ before us. Those who gave their lives to Christ before us and have walked with Christ perfectly have more experience than us and are expected to coach, train, influence, guide and counsel us as a service rendered to us and God.

Matthew 23:11 (But he that is greatest among you shall be your servant. 12 And whosoever shall exalt himself shall be abased; and he that shall humble himself shall be exalted).

Jesus said that whoever does this mentoring job effectively will be conferred with greatness; so, greatness is part of the rewards of being a good mentor. When Jesus Christ finished his job he requested for his reward from God; he asked God to glorify him (John 17:5-6). If you have not been a good mentee you cannot be a good mentor; everyone of us has this call in our lives. How well you make use of your gift and the  quality of your result is what will make you a successful mentor. Mentorship requires an agreement; (Amos 3:3) can two walk together without an agreement? Both mentor and the mentee are required to have an agreement, an understanding of their relationship. The first step toward a mentorship relationship with Jesus is for you to genuinely accept him as your Leader and mentor by praying this salvation prayer below  which serves as the mentorship agreement.

STOP INTERRUPTING THE PROCESS OF FAITH

Matthew 21:19 And when he saw a fig tree in the way, he came to it, and found nothing thereon, but leaves only, and said unto it, Let no fruit grow on thee henceforward for ever. And presently the fig tree withered away. 20 And when the disciples saw it, they marvelled, saying, How soon is the fig tree withered away! 21 Jesus answered and said unto them, Verily I say unto you, If ye have faith, and doubt not, ye shall not only do this which is done to the fig tree, but also if ye shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; it shall be done. 22 And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive.

Going through life involve some natural process but most of the times we find ourselves in hurry to get to our destination forgetting that our life is like a seed; when a seed is sown into the ground it goes through the process of germination and any interruption will automatically kill the seed or hinder its development and that is exactly what many of us find ourselves doing. The word of God is a seed sown into our heart and it needs to go through the process of faith in order to come to the full manifestation. Just like the natural seed, if you sow it into the soil and you continue to remove it to see if it is changing or how it is going to change, then you have killed that seed. When we receive the word regarding any issue of concern in our lives we are to believe God that as He has said so shall it be. Going back to remove the seed from the ground is a sign of unbelief and that is exactly what many of us have done to our faith. We are constantly interrupting the process of our faith and that is why it has not been producing results that we desire. I personally was guilty of this interruption of faith process and I want to share it with you. There are this demonic scorpions that kept appearing in my apartment; it come at the same time and landed in two different spot in my bathroom but in the bedroom and kitchen it will appear in a strategic spot where it thinks i am going to put my feet; so the scorpion has a minds of their own. The ones in the bathroom hide behind the wash hand basin and another corner; because I am conscious of it appearing I develop a habit of checking those places at that time; and guess what, I will definitely find them there. It comes between the hours of 12:00 am and 1:00 am if i check before the time i will not find them there. This continues on a daily basis. I prayed and many joined me in prayer and this continued, and that is after I have fumigated severally without result. A Deacon in my local church that has prayed with me concerning this matter told me, Nene, stop looking for the scorpion because you will continue to see them, that I should remove my mind from it and they will stop coming. He told me about his experience with satanic scorpions and snakes that as long as he was expecting it he kept seeing them until the the day that the Spirit of God told him to stop;  I agreed with him but within my heart, i said this man did not know what is happening here, why won't i check. But guess what he was right because I was actually interrupting my faith process. I will make bold declarations and yet I will go back and check to see if the scorpion has come again; this is very funny  but it is true. Jesus Christ the author and the finisher of our faith did not go back to check the fig tree after he commanded it to dry up nor did he stand there to watch the process; it was Peter that reminded him that the fig tree had actually dried up. You are not the one doing the work, it is by His Spirit; allow the Holy Spirit to do his work and stop interrupting him; when he finishes his work he will remind you (Zechariah 4:6). No one knows the time the water turns to wine but the master knows and he instructed the servant to take the wine to the governor of the ceremony (John 2:1-10). If they did not wait for the instruction they would hinder the process. Yours is to speak the word without a doubt in your heart and the spirit of God will take over from there. John 6:63 (It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life). Friends, I don 't know what has been challenging your redemption; begin right now to speak against that unwanted situation; and also speak life into your business, career and destiny for your turnaround testimony. It is your turn to testify to the goodness of God, rejoice and be glad. He that is born of flesh is flesh and he that is born of spirit is spirit and it is the spirit that brings life to your word. In case you are not yet born again quickly pray this salvation prayer below and be blessed, in Jesus name.

FAITH CATALYST

Obedience to divine instruction is the catalyst that hasten the process of our faith. Faith goes through some process before manifestation; you need to react positively to the instruction of God. It starts with hearing, that is, receiving the instruction and believing it and then acting on the instruction that you believe (John 1:12). Faith is acting on the instruction that you receive and believe. It requires personal responsibilities. The process requires your personal participation, you need to cooperate with God to bring your desire to pass. Your change of story will not happen until you cooperate with God by obeying every instruction from him. if you don't act on the instruction they would have no reaction.

John 2:5 His mother saith unto the servants, Whatsoever he saith unto you, do it. 6 And there were set there six waterpots of stone, after the manner of the purifying of the Jews, containing two or three firkins apiece. 7 Jesus saith unto them, Fill the waterpots with water. And they filled them up to the brim. 8 And he saith unto them, Draw out now, and bear unto the governor of the feast. And they bare it. 9 When the ruler of the feast had tasted the water that was made wine, and knew not whence it was: (but the servants which drew the water knew;) the governor of the feast called the bridegroom,

For example, The wedding in Canaan where Jesus Christ and his disciples were among the guests; the organiser was facing an embarrassing situation of lack, the wine finished in the peak of the celebration. And the mother of Jesus said to the servants, whatever he asks you to do, do it. That was an expo for their change of story, obedience to that information brought about the beginning of their change of story. Many times God has given a hint on what we need to do for our situation to change but many have ignored it and pay dearly for it. Jesus says to them bring the waterpots, fill them with water to the brim. So, there was a specific instruction, the waterpots were to be filled to the brim and not half way. When they were done obeying that particular instruction another one came, that they should take out of the water and give to the governor of the occasion. Note that the servants who receive the instruction did not try to stop and taste the water to see if it has changed to wine, they waited for further instruction; they did not interrupt the faith process. Your obedience is the catalyst that will lead to your change of story. God is the only one that knows what to do concerning your situation, that is why you need Him to guide you through the process step by step. If the servants filled the waterpots half way it would not amount to anything because in the faith equation, half obedient is equal to zero. When God is leading you through the process of faith your spiritual antenna has to be at alert to capture the moment because; the instruction works in many ways. Firstly, when, that is the timing of the instruction; secondly, the how, that is the way to carry out the instruction and thirdly, where, that is the place and who, the people. Friends, your water will not change to wine until your obedience is complete. What you need for your change of story is within you but you need God to reveal it to you. Those men did not go out to get water from outside, the pots and the water were already there, all they needed was just instruction from God. The bible says that God will not avenge all disobedience until your obedience is complete (2 Corinthians 10:6). That means, those things that are embarrassing you will not give way until your obedience to God's instruction is fulfilled. I pray for someone reading this message right now, grace to obey divine instruction, receive it, in the name of Jesus. I command every spirit of disobedience contending with your destiny to give way, in the mighty name of Jesus. It is finally your turn to testify to the goodness of God, rejoice and be glad. God does not lead a stranger, you need to be His son or daughter; He said His sheep knows him and hears his voice (John 10:4-5). John 1:12 (But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name): in this kingdom, your obedient journey begins by accepting Jesus Christ as your Lord and saviour. The good news is that Jesus Christ is still here, and he is still turning peoples´ situation around and it is your turn; please hurry up and pray this salvation prayer below and be blessed, in Jesus name.

THE BIBLICAL ROLE MODEL: PART 3

Isaiah 51:1 Hearken to me, ye that follow after righteousness, ye that seek the LORD: look unto the rock whence ye are hewn, and to the hole of the pit whence ye are digged. 2 Look unto Abraham your father, and unto Sarah that bare you: for I called him alone, and blessed him, and increased him.

The issue of role models is very important to God because He wants you and I to fulfil our glorious destiny in grant style. God knows the challenges we are facing here on earth and that is why He is constantly advising us to focus and choose the right path that He has ordained for us. Deuteronomy 30:19(I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live). Having a biblical role model can shape anyone's destiny and in this kingdom where we belong, the scripture is full of a role model. We are expected to imitate the behaviour of men and women who through their conduct have commanded exploits in the scripture. Our main and number one role model is Christ. Biblical role models are men and women that are in heaven but through their works they continue to live here on earth with us. They are men and women who choose life instead of death; they are men and women who during their journey here on earth fought battles of all kinds and conquered kingdoms. They are giant killers; they are people of strong faith (Hebrews 11:1-40); they carve out territory for themselves and made God proud. They are seated in Christ in heaven at the right hand of God and that is why God said we should look unto Jesus (Hebrews 12:2), and to look unto Abraham and Sarah ( Isaiah 51:1-2). That means we can only look up to those who have gone ahead of us and replicate their good report. The same way that you need to study in order to gain new height academically and then translate into your career growth. You have to study the scripture which is the word of God and that word of God is Christ himself and then you will begin to grow in him and change into his perfect image. When we say role model which means we want to imitate the character of the person in order to be like him or her and also command exploit like that individual. Personally, I am modelling Christ as my number one role model and I now have a special love for Daniel and Joseph. I wanted to be everything they are; and I pray daily that God should baptise me with the same spirit of God that manifested in their life. Remember that in part one of this article I pointed out that the Spirit of God is completed in Christ. As a child of God, you should have a biblical role model aside from Jesus; that is, a character that you admire so much and you want to imitate. If I may ask, who is your scriptural role model? your answer will show through your character. You can have a career role model which is expected, but the scriptural model will make you a generational role model like Joseph and Daniel. I was not surprised when the Lord chose to speak to me through a dream because I asked for Daniel and Joseph´s anointing. So, ask God to replicate the anointing of your biblical role model in your life and you will be surprised what He will make of you. He will give you what you did not even ask for, and don't forget to indicate what you want to use the anointing for. The biblical role models are there for our examples; the same way God wants you to be a better role model for others. Philippians 3:16 (Nevertheless, whereto we have already attained, let us walk by the same rule, let us mind the same thing. 17 Brethren, be followers together of me, and mark them which walk so as ye have us for an example). It is more profitable to choose a role model within your field of endeavour and also if you are an evangelist, a teacher, a pastor, an Apostle, then you need someone like Paul the Apostle as your role model. Someone that is walking in the same rule and minding the same thing as you. Abraham was a businessman and he walked with God and you can follow his footstep and become a giant in your field. 1 Corinthians 12:4 (Now there are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit. 5 And there are differences of administrations, but the same Lord. 6 And there are diversities of operations, but it is the same God which worketh all in all. 7 But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal). If you want the same Spirit that works in your biblical role model to work in you, then you need to align yourself with God that distributed the spirit to everyone. Friends, allow me to introduce you to this generous and mighty God by praying this salvation prayer below and receive your own gift, in Jesus name
