THE SHINING PATH

John 1:4 In him was life; and the life was the light of men. 5 And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not. 6 There was a man sent from God, whose name was John. 7 The same came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all men through him might believe. 8 He was not that Light, but was sent to bear witness of that Light. 9 That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world.

Literally no sane person will want to be in the dark, and that is why every blind person would do anything to get their sight back if it were possible. The situation of the world was like that before the physical manifestation of Christ. People were desperately looking for light, and when the light finally came, they could not recognise him, even though he was screaming that he was the light. John 9:5 (As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world).

During creation, God solved the problem of darkness by introducing light to the world (Genesis 1:1-3), but darkness reintroduced itself to the world after the fall of man (Genesis 3:1-11). Jesus came into the world as the light of the world, and before living, he duplicated himself in us so that as many as receive him as their Lord and saviour will become the same as he is. Satan, the devil, cast darkness on the mind of man, and that is why man needs the mind of Christ to operate as light. 

2 Corinthians 3:14 But their minds were blinded: for until this day remaineth the same vail untaken away in the reading of the old testament; which vail is done away in Christ. 15 But even unto this day, when Moses is read, the vail is upon their heart. 16 Nevertheless when it shall turn to the Lord, the vail shall be taken away.

2 Corinthians 4:4 In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.

Every believer is likened to a city set on a hill that cannot be covered. When you accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and saviour, you will become a carrier of light, and others are meant to be lightened because of our light. Psalm 36:9 (For with thee is the fountain of life: in thy light shall we see light).

So our light is highly contentious, and that is why darkness hides at the appearance of our light. If no one is seeing the good work of God in you and through you, then your light is not shining, because the proof of our light is how we represent God here on earth. If other people are not blessed because of you, then your light is questionable; if all you do is cause people problems, then you are not representing the light. The scriptures say that Jesus Christ was anointed and he went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil (Acts 10:38). 

Proverbs 4:18 (But the path of the just is as the shining light, that shineth more and more unto the perfect day).

We are the light of the world; the light that we generate as a believer is meant to radiate from within and to lighten our path. So if you are not carrying light, your path can never be lighted. Lighting our path means that everyone on the path of our destiny as we move forward will experience the light that comes from us. And if they are not lightened, which means we too are not moving forward because we did not generate enough light to even see our front. Without enough light, stagnation and retrogression are inevitable. Friends, please work on your headlamp. Our association with Christ is what makes us the light of the world because as he is, so we are in this world (1 John 4:17). 

Just like in the secular world, the more knowledge of a particular subject you have, the more enlightened you become in that area. The difference between literate and illiterate is knowledge. We all cannot have equal light, and therefore our shining cannot be the same. The amount of knowledge we have about God determines how bright our light can become. Which means Christ in us can be measured by the amount of light that comes from within us. Christ is the word of God, and the more of the word of God you have in and what you do with the word that is in you, will determine your command of the supernatural. The closer we are to God, the more shining we become. In order not to be outdated and become irrelevant, we need to get more light. We can only generate more light by beholding him in his word so that we can move from glory to glory. 2 Corinthians 3:18 (But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord).

Friends, as long as you are in that business, that career, and that environment, you are the light there, but how shining is your light as a believer? If your light is not bright, nobody will notice you. Please go for light; that means go for knowledge (John 9:5)

PRAYER

Father, in the name of Jesus, opened my eyes of understanding to the knowledge of God and enlightened my path. Amen 

Ephesians 1:18 The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints,

John 8:12 (Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life).

Friends, you need to say yes to Jesus to stop walking in the dark path. If you have not done so yet, please quickly pray this salvation prayer below and begin to walk in the shining path of life. God bless you

Lord Jesus, I repent of my sins and accept You as my Lord and Saviour. I believe you died for me to make me a new man/woman. Forgive me all my sins, wash me with your blood, and give me a new heart. Thank you, Lord, for saving my soul. Now I believe I am born again. And I am a child of God. Amen!
