Matthew 25:1 Then shall the kingdom of heaven be likened unto ten virgins, which took their lamps, and went forth to meet the bridegroom. 2 And five of them were wise, and five were foolish. 3 They that were foolish took their lamps, and took no oil with them: 4 But the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps. 6 And at midnight there was a cry made, Behold, the bridegroom cometh; go ye out to meet him. 7 Then all those virgins arose, and trimmed their lamps.
So many believers are carrying empty vessels without oil; they think they are holy, but holiness without fire means nothing to God. In the kingdom of God, there is no room for empty vessels because empty vessels are like no vessel at all. We, the children of the kingdom, are the bride of Christ; we are the vessels of fire. A vessel without oil cannot produce fire, and we need fire to lighten the world and to destroy the work of the devil. Elijah was not the only holy prophet in Israel during his time, but he carried fire. You need oil to generate fire, and you need fire to produce results, and our result is what will earn us commendation in the presence of God. Jesus Christ will not tolerate any vessels that do not generate fire; he has no regard for such a person in his palace.
Matthew 25:11 (Afterward came also the other virgins, saying, Lord, Lord, open to us. 12 But he answered and said, Verily I say unto you, I know you not).
You cannot enter his chamber without fire because the sign that we have been doing the work he sent us to do is the fire we carry. Empty vessels will suffer the same fate as those who are not even a virgin. Christ wants us to present ourselves as chaste virgins to him, a clean vessel, but the vessels need to carry oil, and the oil needs to produce fire.
Matthew 25:25 And I was afraid, and went and hid thy talent in the earth: lo, there thou hast that is thine. 26 His lord answered and said unto him, Thou wicked and slothful servant, thou knewest that I reap where I sowed not, and gather where I have not strawed: 27 Thou oughtest therefore to have put my money to the exchangers, and then at my coming I should have received mine own with usury. 30 And cast ye the unprofitable servant into outer darkness: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.
The responsibility to keep your light on lies in you. You cannot be a lazy and foolish bride in this kingdom; there is no room for such a person in the palace. The five foolish virgins are the same as the wicked and unfaithful servant who was cast into the fire. Many will be shocked on the last day when it is their turn to enter into the chamber to meet with Christ, they will be locked out because they did not keep their lamp burning. They allow the spirit of slumber to rob them of their anointing; darkness has overshadowed them. You are born again, we know, but Christ purchased you for a purpose. Have you asked yourself a genuine question, whether the purpose Christ purchased you for is being fulfilled in your life? The pounds given to the unfaithful servant were for a purpose, but he did not use them; he kept them locked up. You are a vessel of honour sanctified by God with the blood of His only son to fulfil a purpose, but he is not going to force you to generate results. Everyone is going to be accountable for their journey. Without light in your lamp, there will be no entering.
Acts 1:8 (But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth. 9 And when he had spoken these things, while they beheld, he was taken up; and a cloud received him out of their sight).
The more souls you win for Christ, the brighter your lamp. Christ will say to you on the last day, I saved you and that is why you become a vessel, but you refuse to maintain your vessel with oil, and there is no light in you, and therefore you cannot enter into my rest.
Hebrews 4:7 (Again, he limiteth a certain day, saying in David, To day, after so long a time; as it is said, To day if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts. 8 For if Jesus had given them rest, then would he not afterward have spoken of another day. 9 There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God. 10 For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from his. 11 Let us labour therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief).
The five foolish virgins did not enter his rest; they fell after the example of unbelief; they hardened their heart against the instruction of God. They ignored divine instruction and refused to fill their vessel with oil, and therefore, their lamp went out. The same goes with the wicked servant who hides his talent; he hardens his heart. You will not fall, in Jesus' name. Here is the instruction: Christ says you should go into the world and preach this gospel (Mark 16:15). The question is, have you been doing it? What is going to be your excuse? Friends, there is no excuse for disobedience. There is still time; you have more opportunity. Please don't ignore his last instruction. Friends, check your lamp. If you have no light, which means you have run out of oil, you are no longer connected to the olive tree, which is Christ, or maybe you have not become his vessel at all. You don't need to worry, I have good news for you. Here is another opportunity to connect to the olive tree today by praying the salvation prayer below and begin to produce results. God bless you.
Lord Jesus, I repent of my sins and accept You as my Lord and Saviour. I believe you died for me so that I could become a new man/woman. Forgive me all my sins, wash me with your blood, and give me a new heart. Thank you, Lord, for saving my soul. Now I believe I am born again. And I am a child of God. Amen!
