Redemption has separated us from the world, and if we are not conscious of who we are in redemption, the enemy will take advantage of our carelessness to rob us of our inheritance.
Colossians 1:13 (Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son: 14 In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins):
The continuous daily reminder of our identity is important as we continue to run this race of destiny. We need to be aware that we are no longer the person we used to be; that the old man has died and is nailed to the cross with Jesus. For the old man to remain dead, we need a constant reminder. Every believer has to set their inner alarm clock to keep them alert whenever the old man wants to wake up. The constant interference of the old you will hinder the manifestation of the new you in Christ. Paul the Apostle, to remind himself of who he was, said that he died daily. He is not bothered about physical death because his life was always in danger, but because he is aware of his cross, which makes it easy for him to scale through.
1 Corinthians 15:31 I protest by your rejoicing which I have in Christ Jesus our Lord, I die daily. 32 If after the manner of men I have fought with beasts at Ephesus, what advantageth it me, if the dead rise not? Let us eat and drink; for tomorrow we die. 33 Be not deceived: evil communications corrupt good manners. 34 Awake to righteousness, and sin not; for some have not the knowledge of God: I speak this to your shame.
The question is, can a dead man sin again? Romans 6:7 (For he that is dead is freed from sin). The old man in you who is prone to sin is dead and buried with Christ; he has taken the punishment of your sin upon himself; so the new you that is born out of redemption has no price to pay again. Another question is, can a newborn baby be accused of a sin? The answer is no, it will be insane to charge a baby born today with a sin. Friends, you are a newborn baby in Christ, and you cannot be charged with any sin; but if you are not conscious of your redemption and keep the old man where he belongs, you can fall back into his hand. Which means it is possible to bring him back even after he is dead through your action and neglect.
Romans 6:6 Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin. 7 For he that is dead is freed from sin. 8 Now if we be dead with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with him: 9 Knowing that Christ being raised from the dead dieth no more; death hath no more dominion over him. 10 For in that he died, he died unto sin once: but in that he liveth, he liveth unto God. 11 Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Friends, tell all the attributes and manifestations of the old man that they are dead to you, and you are no longer a captive to them. Tell that man of sin that you are not ignorant of his devices; that you are aware of his manipulation, and you are no longer his candidate.
John 3:4 Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? Can he enter the second time into his mother's womb, and be born? 5 Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. 6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. 7 Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again.
Jesus Christ was actually saying that your old man must die for the new you, which is your original, the true image of God, to be born; For every living thing is ordained by God to give birth to its kind. To be a child of God, you must be born again; no negotiation, and there is no other way to go about it. Friends, in case you are wondering how this thing can be, I have good news for you: saying yes to Jesus is the answer. Quickly accept him by praying this salvation prayer below and be born again.
