THE EMERGENCE OF A NEW MAN

1 Corinthians 15:42 So also is the resurrection of the dead. It is sown in corruption; it is raised in incorruption: 43 It is sown in dishonour; it is raised in glory: it is sown in weakness; it is raised in power: 44 It is sown a natural body; it is raised a spiritual body. There is a natural body, and there is a spiritual body. 49 And as we have borne the image of the earthy, we shall also bear the image of the heavenly. 50 Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption.

Every believer is expected by Christ to carry their cross and follow him. Redemption has given every one of us a cross to carry because we are to be crucified with him. If you are not crucified with him, you cannot be resurrected unto eternal life with him. The Jesus Christ who was crucified was not the same Jesus who resurrected; he came out with a more glorious body that cannot be destroyed. We are redeemed as a seed to live a life of sacrifice. That is denying yourself the pleasure of this world to make way for God to manifest His glory through you.

2 Corinthians 5:17 (Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new).

Until you crucify the old man in you and let it die, the new you will not emerge. The old man in you is contrary to your original image, which is the image of Christ. A decision to follow Jesus is a decision to let the old man die so that the new man can manifest his true identity.

Romans 6:4 Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. 5 For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection: 6 Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.

Christ cannot dwell in a corrupt body, and without him we can do nothing; you need to allow the old things to pass away by surrendering them to Jesus and picking up the new thing. Until you distance yourself from everything that has to do with the old man who was inside of you before redemption, the new man will have difficulty expressing himself. The old man represents sin, corruption, and everything that has to do with evil, and it takes a conscious effort and a change of mindset that comes with redemption to get rid of him. Our redemption is meant to reset our minds to reflect the mind of Christ. When your character, behaviour, and attitude begin to reflect that of God, which was His original intention during creation, that is proof that the new you has emerged. When your will is aligned with the will of God for you, then you can boldly say that a new you has emerged. The power to get rid of the old man inside of you has been deposited inside of you at new birth. John 1:12 (But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: 13 Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God). So, Friends, sin has no

power over you again; your dominion over sin has been established by redemption, you have the mind of Christ, but you have to be conscious of it (Romans 6:9)

Redemption has made you a brand-new person, and you need to walk in the newness of life because the old man that was in you cannot be put together with the new man.

Matthew 9:16 (No man putteth a piece of new cloth unto an old garment, for that which is put in to fill it up taketh from the garment, and the rent is made worse. 17 Neither do men put new wine into old bottles: else the bottles break, and the wine runneth out, and the bottles perish: but they put new wine into new bottles, and both are preserved).

Friends, to become a new person, you need to surrender your life to Jesus by praying this salvation prayer below and be blessed, in Jesus' name.

Lord Jesus, I repent of my sins and accept You as my Lord and Saviour. I believe you died for me to make me a new man/woman. Forgive me all my sins, wash me with your blood, and give me a new heart. Thank you, Lord, for saving my soul. Now I believe I am born again. And I am a child of God. Amen!
