Knowing that even when nobody is watching, God is watching is the beginning of our successful journey towards enthronement.
God wants to make you ruler over His household only if you can pass the test of faithfulness. Your reign in life, your enthronement, is tied to your faithfulness. What you do with the little that is committed in your hand is what will prompt God to commit more into your hand. If you cannot be trusted with a little, no one will trust you with true riches.
Matthew 24:45 Who then is a faithful and wise servant, whom his lord hath made ruler over his household, to give them meat in due season? 46 Blessed is that servant, whom his lord when he cometh shall find so doing. 47 Verily I say unto you, That he shall make him ruler over all his goods.
The accountability test is crucial to our next level; many believers are not too conscious of the presence of God in their lives. When I started my journey with God, I quickly realised that the Holy Spirit is always listening to our conversation; so when I am with other children of God, I will indirectly channel my discussion to the issue of concerns which I want God to speak about; guess what, He does speak because He is always there. The only way we can maintain a sense of accountability is to be aware of God's presence in our lives. God is watching every one of our actions and inactions; he is taking record, and we are going to be held accountable for every careless step and action.
Genesis 41:40 Thou shalt be over my house, and according unto thy word shall all my people be ruled: only in the throne will I be greater than thou. 41 And Pharaoh said unto Joseph, See, I have set thee over all the land of Egypt.
Joseph rose to the point that God could hand over the whole Nation to him to manage. Pharaoh trusted Joseph with his throne, and he did not disappoint him; His reign in Egypt was not accidental because he maintained a good resume. If I may ask, if God checks your resume for your previous job of stewardship, will he be impressed? The next level you are waiting for will not come if you do not pass the kingdom test. God is examining your resume; your prayer request is your resume; the master is in the interview panel, asking you only one question. Why do you think you are qualified for this job? God asked David the same question through Saul before he was allowed to face off with Golaiath and David mentioned an occasion where he passed his accountability test, and the Lord handed over the kingdom of Israel into his hand until this day.
1 Samuel 17:34 (And David said unto Saul, Thy servant kept his father's sheep, and there came a lion, and a bear, and took a lamb out of the flock: 35 And I went out after him, and smote him, and delivered it out of his mouth: and when he arose against me, I caught him by his beard, and smote him, and slew him. 36 Thy servant slew both the lion and the bear: and this uncircumcised Philistine shall be as one of them, seeing he hath defied the armies of the living God).
David passes his test that even the Messiah has to come from his lineage; the question is, how faithful are you? It is time to stop doing eye service; you are not helping yourselves. The praise of men will not get you anywhere; only God's commendation can enthrone you.
Joseph is so conscious of eye service that even when Potiphar throws him in prison, he doesn't really care. His focus was to please God. Genesis 39:9 (There is none greater in this house than I; neither hath he kept back any thing from me but thee, because thou art his wife: how then can I do this great wickedness, and sin against God?)
David was not there to impress Saul; his focus was to deliver the armies of God and take the reproach from them. If I may ask, why are you in that church? What is your intention? Why are you in that service unit? Why are you doing what you are doing? Why did you choose that profession? Are you there to save lives or to impress people? Your answers will determine your next level promotion. Friends, you can always make a U-turn and get it right with God; a genuine repentance is what is required to get it right. Say yes to Jesus today and be reconciled with God by praying this salvation prayer below, and be blessed, in Jesus name.
Lord Jesus, I repent of my sins and accept You as my Lord and Saviour. I believe you died for me to make me a new man/woman. Forgive me all my sins, wash me with your blood, and give me a new heart. Thank you, Lord, for saving my soul. Now I believe I am born again. And I am a child of God. Amen!
