REMEMBERING THE SACRIFICE OF OUR RESURRECTED KING

Easter celebration is a moment of remembrance of what Christ went through because of us. It is a week of reflection on our work with God. It should be a moment of soberness in the body of Christ, not because of his crucifixion but because of the value we attach to it.

Jesus Christ wants us to remember his sacrifice every day of our lives, and the proof that we do is to continue with the work of reconciliation. If I may ask, why did Jesus come to the world? You will say to restore our relationship with God and to pay for our sin. You are correct, but everyone born of a man shares in the sin of Adam, and every man here on this earth is meant to benefit from the saving grace of Jesus. Many are not aware of this because Jesus Christ is no longer here with us physically; the responsibility to create this awareness lies with me and you. The scripture below summarizes his job and our own assignment. He has completed his own, and he is watching, celebrating what you are not conscious of, what an irony.

2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new. 18 And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation; 19 To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation. 20 Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ's stead, be ye reconciled to God. 21 For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.

I came across something very important in one of Paul´s epistles, where he spoke about crucifying Jesus afresh. That is exactly what many of us are doing today in the body of Christ; Many of us have grieved him and continue to grieve him. You may ask, but Nene, how? When you have tasted his goodness and go back to the world, your action has brought shame to him, that is, crucifying Jesus afresh to yourself. When you disregard his instruction and cheat people in his name, you are crucifying him afresh to yourself.

Hebrews 6:4 For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost, 5 And have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come, 6 If they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame.

When David collected Uriah´s wife and killed him, God´s anger against David was not only because he killed Uriah, but also because he made His enemies mock Him, saying, the man after God´s heart, see the kind of evil he has done. They watched to see what He would do about his action. The enemy knows your relationship with Jesus; whatever you do has a direct effect on how the world sees him.

2 Samuel 12:14 Howbeit, because by this deed thou hast given great occasion to the enemies of the LORD to blaspheme, the child also that is born unto thee shall surely die.

A genuine repentance and a vow to be committed to the work of evangelism is the best way to remember his sacrifice. 2 Corinthians 5:21 (For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him). Our job is to let the world know about his sacrifice, for he said to us; go ye into the world and preach this gospel (Mark 16:15-20). Friends, let his word move you, don´t ignore his instruction, that is the best Easter gift anyone can give to Jesus this season.

Friends, if you have not reconciled with God, which means you have not accepted the sacrifice of Jesus, this is the best time to do so by praying this salvation prayer below and, be blessed, in Jesus name.

Friends, Jesus will only reveal himself to his friends. If you are not yet his friend, please accept his friend request by praying the salvation prayer below and be blessed, in Jesus name.

Lord Jesus, I repent of my sins and accept You as my Lord and Saviour. I believe you died for me so that I could become a new man/woman. Forgive me all my sins, wash me with your blood, and give me a new heart. Thank you, Lord, for saving my soul. Now I believe I am born again. And I am a child of God. Amen!
